I haven't watched the whole series but macross frontier certainly starts out promising.

Suisei no Gargantia and Valvrave the Liberator are new. I've not seen them though.

judging from all the awards and gamer buzz, i'd say yes.

I heard they remade neon genesis a while back into ovas is that right?

Can't get excited about anything that's exclusive to a pariah system I'll never buy, but I'm glad you're a fan of the genre.

I recommend Ginga Kikoutai MJP. It's `that other` mecha anime of this/last season, but in my opinion is far better than Valvrave or Suisei no Gargantia.

the whole pariah thing has kind of blown over, it's mainly just fanboys just stoking the embers by now.

and as for your recommendation, ill check it out.

Gundam Wing is my favorite anime series, I highly recommend it. Gundam Seed was good, but since it sounds like you are looking for giant robots doing lots of action-y stuff, I can't say I recommend it as much.

I wish I could be as excited for Titanfall as you are, but the lack of single player kinda killed it for me, I'm just not into online multiplayer as much as I used to be.

Real Steel and Pacific Rim are the closest robot movies that come to mind.

Titanfall only looked like "CoD with mechs" to me so I wasn't very impressed by it.

MechWarrior Online

Seriously, it's fantastic. Even with it's lack of a solo campaign experience, the incredible multiplayer more than makes up for it.

This is one thing that's been seriously bugging.

It's not that the game doesn't have a solo campaign, it's that people are immediately jumping to the conclusion that the only way to play it is online with other players in a competitive arena.

Respawn has said, multiple times, that there will be solo and co-op modes. Just no narrative-driven, linear campaign.

Granted, if someone was only interested in the game at the prospect of such a campaign, then I can understand their current disinterest. In fact, I even share in the disappointment. But to suddenly shun the game because of the assumption that it's "online only", when it actually isn't, is ridiculous.

Another thing that's been bugging me.

People assuming it's an Xbox One exclusive, simply because it was shown off at the Microsoft press conference.

It's coming to PC as well.

Yes they did. Two are currently available in English dub and a third in Japanese. There is a final one being made right now. They're good and kind of give the characters a chance for a better ending.

I didn't know they also have some single player modes too, but as it stands I don't think a really small throwaway campaign would give me incentive to buy the game. If it does have some offline play I may get it when it's cheaper sometime down the road.

If you haven't seen it already, Pacific Rim is good :p.
Unfortunately, my local cinema has decided to skip pacific rim, and if I want to see it elsewhere, the bus fare pretty much doubles the ticket price, and there's precisely one showing at an early enough time I can actually catch a buss home afterwards. Joy.

On topic... macross frontier is good, but a few years old now. I must admit, I'm a little behind on whats big in anime at the moment, apart from Attack on Titan.
