I tired the trial as a Paladin, and I really wanted to enjoy it, really, but at level 9, the quest was just so boring, and it felt like I was being forced to do this as a chore, and if I didn't, I would be hunted down and shot.

So....yeah...

I figured that was my last experience with MMOs...as I found the same problem with Guild Wars.

Unrelated, in a way,

I tried Aion over the weekend. And dear god I am IN LOVE.

Even though technically, the game still has a lot of grind to it, but for some reason, I don't mind it. Maybe it was the graphics, I don't know.

Hey there Ardenon, nice to have you on our team ^^ What realm do you play on?
I play mainly Horde on Lightbringer. You know it's never truly had the sort of grasp over me that you could call an addiction. I just fucking love it is all :D
Welcome to the Escapist, you're on my good list.
Ah well I play on a Russian server ??????????? (I typed it in ??'s because in Preview its something much worse and the server is translated as Borean Tundra) and, well, umn, Alliance.
When I came to my first day to work, I met a colleague who also played WoW, we started to chat and the control question he asked me before continuing was "Horde or Alliance?" with a good sense of humor he asked that whether hes going to beat me to a pulp or not :p
Ah no luck here then, I play on the English servers :/ My friend likes to think he can just play both, and whilst I suppose you can, I don't think it carries the same fun as dedicating yourself to one side.

I guess at some point addiction would actually be a wrong thing to say in all of this, turns out this whole thing is not more than a time sink, for most of people...
Personally I'd love to transfer my time to a relationship, though coming by a good one is another problem

Is no one but me a little scared by the OP's story? This guy's spent almost a year's worth of time sat in front of a computer playing WoW. An entire year completely wasted.

Playing WoW achieves nothing, and you're not ever getting that time back either. I appreciate all gaming is essentially pointless, but it doesn't suck away life on the scale WoW does... right?
Tell me how any time in front of a computer is not wasted.
It doesn't matter weather it's a mmo like wow or a fps like Cod 4, you do what you think is fun and so be it.

If you're addicted to WoW you might as well kill yourself as you are no benefit to society except you waste power and food.

Pussies.
Try a real addiction like Runescape or TOME.
Runescape was my very first MMO and I've played it since engine 1 :p. Since I was playing with my classmates that time it was quite enjoyable. Compared to what it's now, it feels like they completely changed the whole thing
