To be honest considering Zone is actually working with the team, it isn't that far fetched. The style fits and the layout for the character sheet looks just like the ones used on the SkullGirls fund raiser.

It probably is a fake, but if it is, it's been done pretty well.

I don't even follow Zone's stuff but I like the visual design for Zone Tan, so it'd be kind of cool if it wasn't a fake.

Ha! Narration by Bennett the Sage! I did not expect that. I thought the voice sounded familiar.

I thought the same but, if you think about it, it make "sense":
Zone already paid at first 1000 dollars to be in the game as an background character [yes, this is legit] AND Zone working with
Lab-Zero.
So in some way it is not so fake in my opinion.

So is this real or not? Still confused.
That is the problem, none confirmed if this is real or not.
Not even in Official Skullgirls site didn't found an answer.

Sorry to say, it's confirmed to be a April Fool's prank. This is from Zone's tumblr.

"For those of you who have not yet realized it, ZONE-tan as DLC was an April Fool.

I, and a lot of the folks at Lab Zero have been asked recently if ZONE-tan would ever become a fully fledged DLC character and our response has always been that fan-characters are not something that would be considered for the game.
Even though I?m doing contract animation work for Lab Zero, Skullgirls is Mike, Alex and the rest of the core team?s game, not mine. ZONE-tan has no real place in the Skullgirls universe other than as a BG character with every other Patron Saint?s OCs, and is no more important than any of the rest of them. Alex and Mike already have over 30 genuine Skullgirls characters ready to develop as full-fledged DLC or possibly in a Skullgirls sequel, so there is absolutely no need to get fans to start creating characters for them.
Lab Zero have already been extremely generous, adding an homage to my Filia flash into the 1.01 patch, saying that they may consider a ZONE-tan Squigly palette and allowing me to have ZONE-tan as a background character in one of the new stages for the Patron Saints? OCs. I don?t want to attempt to shoehorn any of my content into the game where it would have the potential to taint the wonderful universe that Alex has developed, I already feel that they have done way more than enough.
I would rather see any of the other characters that Alex has designed appear in the game before ZONE-tan. It would be extremely rude of me, after all the courtesy they have shown me, to attempt to push for them to consider anything like this, and I honestly don?t want to see it happen. There is no need to pester Lab Zero about getting her in, or trying to start some campaign to see it happen, it?s just not going to happen. No one has forced my hand, this is just what I feel is right.
I hope the April Fool at least gave people something to have fun with. It?s as close as she?s going to get to being in the game, and that?s the way it should definitely stay."

A,yes, I was right about to update my first post about this, but you get first my friend.
However even with that at least we will see Zone-tan in SK game as a background character and Squigly will have the color palette of Zone-tan.

If you?ve been keeping track of Skullgirls news recently, you?ll know that Squigly and several more DLC characters were funded thanks to the Indiegogo campaign. What you may not know is that in addition to that, I have donated $225,000 to Lab Zero in order to fund the development of ZONE-tan as a playable DLC character in Skullgirls.

$225,000!?

Does hentai really pay that well!?

*Edit*

Saw above me this wasnt real. Good, cause that was about to serious cause me to question fucking everything...

Nah, it was only an April Joke after all....
But she will be an Background character in the game, so we are somehow still winners, eh?

Welp, even as an aprils fools joke, that video I saw in this thread pretty much reaffirms how I feel about some nerdy porn producers and their audience.

I mean, I would pour out some unbridled rage in this post but I can't seem to do so in a coherent fashion. I think the main problem I have is that they seem prone to insult their customer base when the producer themselves is just as 'bad' as they, the customer.

EDIT: as an autours nose: the whole skullgirls thing pisses me off in a generally because the creators of this whole thing seem to go to great lengths to pretend that its anything but shallow exploitive images of scantily clad cartoony women fighting each other.

I am sure the women who do the animation and voice acting feel terribly exploited.

Or perhaps not

You seem to go to awful lengths to make yourself angry, considering how often you come into threads about things you clearly do not like. You were already aware of the existence of the game, yet you decided to come into it anyway and complain about it.

It's your choice of course, but remember that if you'd just chosen to not read the thread about a game you clearly do not like, then you wouldn't be feeling so angry right now.

It's kind of like somebody who hates drunkenness going into every bar in town to complain about it.

April Fool's joke aside, I am looking so insanely forward to this game that it's not even funny! Finally, an arcade fighter that will come directly to PC platform. I also love the art style and would take it over stuff like SSFIV any day!
Brings back some serious nostalgia from Marvel vs Capcom days.

My response to calling Skullgirls Sexist
I am the Voice actress who plays Parasoul in the game Skullgirls. I consider myself very pro active in my participation in women?s rights. I own the game and I play it regularly. I don?t feel for one second that this game is sexist. Sexism is not defined by skimpy outfits. Sexism is defined by the dictionary as prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
This game is not doing any of these things. unless you believe Skullgirls is creating the stereotype that ass kicking women have tremendously pendulous breasts. In that case, every anime series can be accused of the same thing.
Not once do these characters have to use their sexuality to get ahead. They don?t have to say demeaning things lowering their self worth. They don?t even make sexual references in the dialogue. They are not in need of men to handle their business. This is a kick ass fighting game using ALL FEMALE CHARACTERS people!
This means Payed work for female voice actors!!! Which made this VA feel empowered after the session! I got to play a powerful and strong woman in CHARGE! That is what matters to me.
What is sexist is all the first person shooter games that are made with hundreds of male characters and a pittance of female characters. Where the female characters are always the same personality and barely get a story line unless its in regards to enhance some male characters story line. When my male counterpart works 5 weeks on a game while I get 2 days. That?s sexism?. and I am still grateful for my 2 days work. That ain?t gonna change people.
Just my opinion.

Doesn't really change the fact that the characters are designed in a shallow and exploitive way.

Its not that kind of anger.

Sexiness doesn't bother me. Its how people treat it is what bothers me. And the creators of this game appear really disingenuous to me and it has struck a nerve.

It costs $250,000 to develop each SkullGirls character, feel free to give them more money.
