I remember there was a case a year or 2 back where a guy got charged for assault for something along the lines of "maliciously farting in a woman's face"
on the one hand that seems a bit extreme but on the other hand you can't just run around intentionally farting on people without reprimand.

I didn't bother to watch the clip because from what I know of soccer the clip is probably a guy rolling around on the ground in agony because someone farted on him and then jumping up a split second later when the ref doesn't believe him....

An article I read about this said that another player down the pitch couldn't stop laughing at the fart, so it must have been a loud one to be heard that far away with all the fans chanting.

Is there a rule in soccer about poor sportsmanship? Because this seems like a moment where the laughing player gets a faceful of Stereotypical Dad, going "Oh, you think it's funny? Well, you can join him!".

I would have loved if the ref turned on the other player and did that. I'm not much of a sport fan so I only read the article to check if it was legit or just click bate and was amused it was legit.

I'm pretty sure that football refs have HUGE power and leeway on the field. I think if they want to hand out a penalty, it's getting handed out. I agree that it would have been nice to see that too.

*reads article*
*follows article to decent source instead*

Oh, it's not so much farting but provocation with a fart. Why did I know this was going to be a let down?
