I'm on Myspace (which I haven't used in a couple of years), facebook, twitter and escapist, if we're counting that as one. The last three I check daily, to an almost crazy-obsessive level.

I use facebook cause some of my friends have gotten the idea that announcing partys only on facebook is a good idea. This usually leads to me getting a message from my girlfriend telling me to check out facebook cause theres a party.

Signed up so i could watch pictures my friends had taken from our vaccation. Doesn't really use it though.
Can't really understand how some people can actually spend hours every day on facebook.
There's alot to do on there besides talking to your friends, like this Mafia Wars game, and some football games which are actually rather fun.
True, though most i guess what differs me from most people i know who spend a lot of time on FB isn't the fact that i prefer "real" (in lack of a better word) games instead of mini browser games. But it's more because I guess i don't really care about tiny details of peopel i hardly knows life, where some people i know can spend hours checking what others have done and said.

But then again, i do spend quiete a lot of time on this site when i'm at work. Guess that sortof counts as well.

Facebook. I don't use it to socialize, though. I use it for a group that regularly posts hilarious images.

Facebook and.... Twitter *shutters*
But a lot of my friends are on there and... oh god I hate what I've become.

Does Digg and/or Delicious count btw?

I use Facebook a lot. I like it because with Facebook I can only be connected with people I know, rather than total strangers.

I use the following;

Bebo - most of my mates use this.
Facebook - keep in contact with a few online friends through this.
MySpace - I have 1 friend on MySpace so i don't check often.
Twitter - I follow loads of games devs on twitter a long with friends and Stephen Fry.
PlayFire - I guess it's a Social Networking site for gamers really.

EDIT:
Good Reads - Social Networking for people who read.
Last.fm - For music.

Really stretching the definition here.

I used to use Bebo and Myspace, but now it's only Facebook. Can't stand the first two now.

I don't use any! I tried Myspace, and Facebook, and Twitter, and I found them all pretty pointless. lol

But I keep in touch with friends over MSN and.. ya know, actually seeing them. But if the situation is different for other people I can see a use for these sites. But otherwise, I just don't get the appeal :O

The internet and social networking. Pre-2004, before the popularity of facebook, who would have thought?

Before Gmail and Facebook, the internet was for business and nerds playing games. It's amazing what's happened in the last couple years with crowd-sourcing, social networking, and ease of use. Describe YouTube to someone from 1995 and their heads would explode.

"There are sixteen goats in that tree! *KABLAM!*"
