This is referencing to the recent movie "Gamer" just FYI.

Two things. First of all, was I the only one that was reminded of "Playstation Home" when it showed "Society?" It seemed just like it, only a much more interactive form of it.

Also, do you think that gaming with ever (no matter how far from now) reach the same level of realism? I don't mean controlling live people (if it ever does, I'll have to quit gaming. Too much realism for me) but do you think it might become that real? To the point that your actions, what you say, etc. will reflect directly back to your character model so it's basically like you're the one doing all of the actions for them? Hopefully that makes sense. xD I'm not quite sure how to word it.

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising has already reached that level, and in a way that doesn't require all that junk. It relies on primal instinct, and thats what games should be going for.

It will never come to that, I think. I'd never enjoy playing a game with such controlling as in Gamer; Saying things and waving your arms in the air. Currently I don't even like any wireless controllers as they don't have a good enough response. Wireless gaming mouse is a joke btw.

I thought that game relied on high degrees of planning and pinpoint execution.

Slayer's alright in society, but crank it too loud and you'll scare old people and midgets. Nobody knows why Mandatory Suicide causes the little bastards to run around and bump into things, but I can tell you from first-hand experience, it's funny as hell.

I'm sure eventually they'll get a type of VR system. I know they're doing work on augmented reality systems. Personally if they ever got a game like they have in the .hack series you'd be saying goodbye to me.

I think that if gaming did reach the point where you could realistically control your character there would be a lot less obesity.
Mom: honey don't you think you should come eat dinner?
Kid: not right now I'm finishing my last set of crunches have to increase my crouch speed in MW10!!!!

I concur about gamer(&and that movie starring bruce willis) seemed a lot like Home.

I think they will try to achieve that, but weather it will be popular will be another thing. Probably, it'd be like the Wii i guess. Lots of sports games and so forth.

I disagree, it's a good game and all, but like most realism games, it feels too... unimmersive. The VO's are silly sounding (especially when calling out co-ordinates), the vehicles handle like 10-ton pieces of lead on stone wheels, the air and armor vehicles are a joke, when you use them, but all-powerful when enemies are in them, and the sound effects are generally lame. It's still a fun game, I just can't get into it as much as MW2, which is sad, as I much prefer the gameplay in OF:DR.

ON TOPIC: Technology will continue to grow, so eventually, I'm sure totally realistic games will be released.

On another note, I think the movie "Gamer" is ridiculous, considering the controversy video-games cause already, imagine if you were "playing" with real people, even if they're convicts.
