The age limit is there because the Society wouldn't realistically accept someone that young. It would be kinda ridiculous if they accepted 13 year olds and brought them along to fight and army of power-armored soldiers who want to kill them.

The reserve is because Lizmichi and Counterattack thought you'd want to join, so we gave you one just in case.
Sorry- I meant young age limit as in no one over 33! Not the other way. :p 33-40 doesn't seem too old to me.

...Or am I getting old? NROOOOOOO.

I'm pretty sure your still fairly young if your on this sub-forum. Any ways, as for max, it's because we want peoples heroes to be fairly inexperienced, if your character is in their fifties then that means they have probably mastered their powers, so your character wouldn't really fit into the whole 'young super squad' dynamic we got going on.

Name: Jenny Morrison

Hero Alias: Ourana

Age: 23

Powers:
Force Field Manipulation
I am able to create force fields. They're translucent and a deep blue in colour. While I can make a shield to fit the form of an object, this would make them immobile and unable to move- good for freezing enemies, not so great for moving out of tight situations. It's more practical to make spherical fields, giving the protected target the ability to move around inside and walk about; these fields will follow the target.

I also have some telekinetic abilities as well, which are practical but not as strong as force fields. I?m able to do a sort of 'force push' and 'pull' with it, as my friend and deep Star Wars fan puts it.

Weaknesses:
-I'm unaware of exactly how much pressure my force fields can take. A year ago I managed to stop a car moving at 40 miles per hour and only faint for a minute or two; I'm a bit too scared to experiment, though.
-As mentioned, if a force field is destroyed, if often renders me unconscious. How long depends on the force to hit it.
-While inside a force field, oxygen is contained, so it's possible to suffocate if staying inside too long.
-I'm not very physically strong. I'm small and slim so I can dodge very well and hide in small places, but when it comes to combat, I'm hopeless.

Weapons: N/A

Appearance (both civilian and hero costume):
Well, I suppose I'm a bit small and unassuming, if anything; I'm very petite at 5'5", so I'll never really be in the way. My blond hair is almost always in a ponytail and out of my face. Eyes are a deep shade of blue- the exact same colour as the force fields I create, which must be connected somehow. As a civilian, I dress pretty plainly in jeans and sneakers, usually with just a logo-free shirt or a delicate vest. Boring, but simple, I suppose. I used to wear a pair of glasses with black lenses out of necessity, but after my powers grew stronger, the need for them lessened to the point where I now have 20/20 vision. I still wear them as a civilian though, just as a reminder that I'm still human.

My costume is where I like to be creative- to be something more. To be what I've always dreamed, I guess. It's embarrassing, but... Well, my costume is your typical spandex show, light and manoeuvrable; with the ability to make shields, I don't really need heavy armour. The costume is dark navy blue, sleeveless, and with a short skirt attached. The collar covers my neck completely, and I tend to wear an eye mask for protecting my identity. I'm not great with high heels, so the boots are flat and comfortable. I also have a pair of gloves which flare outward at the wrists.

Personality: Well, I'm bad at describing myself, for one... I guess I'd say humble and shy, really. I'm not great at taking credit for my work; as long as the job gets done, that's fine. I'm generally quite friendly though, and probably not the bravest of the bunch. Still, while I might not have the greatest guts, I would do anything for my friends, having had so few in life.

Biography: There isn't really a lot to say here, I guess. I moved to Nova City in the Green Everest District when I was 2 years old, so I don't remember anything before that. It was in Horizon, however, that I met my best friend, Christopher, with whom I had a lot in common as opposed to the girls my age. While he was never very 'well off'- his mother was on welfare, his father in prison- we connected anyway. We grew up watching television and pretending to be jedi together.

At the age of twelve, around when I hit puberty, something else came with it. I began experiencing these odd powers. I had to show Christopher, and later that very week he gave me my own (wooden) lightsaber. We've been inseparable ever since, and while I feel bad that he doesn't have these abilities as well, he has always remained considerate about it.

It wasn't until five years later that I discovered his secret- he was bullied, constantly, though never on the face where I could tell. I confronted his bullies myself, and with my powers, tried to fight them. Unfortunately, this went badly, and Christopher felt ashamed for having gotten me into the mess. He and his mother moved away later that year, and I left for university. We kept contact online, but things were never the same. Ever since that incident, I have trained my abilities, though the reason isn?t entirely clear to me.

Notes: The only person who knows my identity is my lifelong friend, Christopher Hitch. We're both big Star Wars fans, so my abilities are like a special secret between us. Embarrassingly enough, it has led to a fair few entertaining re-enactments just for laughs.

There. Done and done.

Name: Brian MacKenzie

Hero Alias: ?

Age: 21

Powers:
I guess you can call me the perfect healing machine. Any wound I take, I can regenerate, like it was never there. It's a bit painful when I do it, but I barely notice it anymore. Not only that, I can heal anyone around me, the exact same way. Again, it's painful, but it gets the job done. Also, thanks to some "professionals" who met me when I was younger, I have some control over dark energy. Like, have you ever played Mass Effect? Then you have a good idea of what I can actually do with that, although you have to scale it back a bit, I'm not pro at it.

Weaknesses:
-I have to remain still if I'm healing up, otherwise, you know stuff would get a little out of place. It makes me a sitting duck, but I'm not having my bone stick out of my arm again. That sucked. Plus, you know, the pain.
-Same thing if I'm healing someone else, only both people have got to be still.
-I'm not immortal. I can't survive like, a shotgun blast, or decapitation or anything like that. I'm not that good.
-Beer, but then again, you could have guessed that.

Weapons: N/A

Appearance (both civilian and hero costume):
All right well I kinda of stick out a little bit, being 6'4" will do that for ya, and I'm lanky too, there isn't much muscle. If somehow you saw my hair, you'd see it's mostly short, a bit longer in the back, it's straight and dirty blond, almost brown, but not quite. My beard is some how lighter in color. Don't know how. It goes around like a chinstrap, I'm told it makes me look better. My eyes stand out too, they are a deep blue like a Yukon lake in winter. Normal everyday attire? It's nothing fancy, I just stick with a random t-shirt I grab, blue jeans, my old pair of sneakers, and depending on the season, an assortment of baseball hats between spring and fall, and my red toque in the winter. (Yes toque. Don't test me on this.)

I was supposed to have a costume? Shit, um well, I've been wearing this motorcycle helmet I picked up cheap from a secondhand store, and this leather jacket I don't wear unless I'm out looking for people who need help. I don't know, what about my powers screams "biker healer"? I'm sorry, I'm a bit new to this whole superhero thing. Going to need some work on that.

Personality: I like to think I'm a pretty fun guy to hang out with, you know, very open. I'm usually the first to help out in trouble, I guess that's why I started getting into the superhero realm, once I knew about it. I'm very social, I like being in the crowd, much more fun than being alone. I'm um...not very good at describing myself. You're better off asking people who know me for that.

Biography: OK, get comfy, cause its story time.

I was born in Port Hood, Nova Scotia, to a poor family. We lived pretty close to the ocean, close enough where the winds from off the Gulf could knock you right over if you weren't careful. According to my folks, it was pretty normal life at first, running around, drinking juice, kid stuff. Then when I was eight, I was playing with my brother on the bunk beds and we both fell off the top bunk, I landed on my arm, he landed on his leg, both totally broke. My bro was freaking, I was freaking but paralyzed, like I couldn't move. I was calling out for the folks, and when they got to me they saw my arm literally put itself back into place. They couldn't believe it. My bro was still crying so I tried to put him at ease. I wanted to see if his leg was really broken and then as I touched him, the leg started healing too. It was crazy. They were sure something was wrong so they took me and him to Dr. MacInnis. He said we were perfectly fine, even though they saw our limbs broken. And then that's when the government came in.

See Canada? Not as peaceful as you all might think. There was some real freaky stuff going on. I was taken to a military facility in Fort MacMurray, Alberta where testing went on. A lot of testing. They wanted to see the extent of my powers, short of full on blasting me in the head, and I passed through everything, without a scratch. I even healed one of the construction workers who got into a nail gun incident. They said while they had seen the regeneration powers before, I was the first to be able to regenerate people. They said I would be very useful. After a couple years, they said they wanted to try something they hadn't tried before, cause no one was able to handle it. I was just like 10, so I figured, you know I could do it. I don't remember what happened after I said yes, but when I woke up I could do things. Float things. Not very well though, but enough to be noticeable. They had me work on it, training for a couple years, but I was never really that good with it. I didn't get more time because in 2003, Prime Minister Martin shut the whole thing down. Said it wasn't needed anymore. I think he was just looking for something to cut.

The guys in the facility returned me home, parents were pretty happy actually. The scientists said that with my studies, I could reenter the school system, but I would have to keep everything secret. I didn't want to stand out, so I did. I went through all of high school and the couple years I worked to end up some nest money without showing off any of these powers. I finally got enough saved up so I could attend university, and I enrolled at Nova State since it was cheap and they offered me a little scholarship money. During my first year, I kept hearing about all these attacks on the streets and stuff and, I don't know, it just got to me. I figured I couldn't let this stand so I started going out at night, wearing that helmet, seeing if I could help anyone. I'm pretty sure that's not the best way to survive here, so I thought I could join up with you guys. I mean, I gotta be some use, right?

Notes: Um.....not sure what to put here. I'll just leave it blank.

I might as well join the lot of you.
Name: My name's Tyson Bishop.

Hero Alias: I wasn't previously a hero so I lack a public alias. I guess my code name would be the equivalent to that so it would be Sound Check.

Age: My current age is 23.

Powers: I can manipulate sound resonance using my mouth. This allows me to generate any number of frequencies at different levels of strength. I am also an explosives technician for what good that can do outside a war zone.

Weaknesses: I loose control over the strength of the sound I create when I go above the sound of yelling. I also loose my ability to hear when generating these sound waves.

Weapons: I personally own and use a C8TC marksmen style rifle with armor piercing rounds.

Appearance (both civilian and hero costume): You can see me walk the streets with the rest of society as a muscular white male wearing; blue jeans, with white or black custom design t-shirts, combat boots, and a black or red hoodie that's unzipped with the hood pulled over my head. I have deep green eyes and my hair is brown and shaved short.I'm 6 feet tall and weight 190 pounds.

My "costume" is really a set of stolen armor from the military. It is painted black completely. The armor its self is made of small metal plates layered over each other to provide extra strength in order to stop standard armor piercing bullets, knifes, and and disperse the force of general blunt damage. The armor however is weak against high caliber bullets and has several weak points where my joints are to allow for better movement. Additionally I wear a mask that's nothing but show over the top half of my face to hide who I am.

Personality: I'm a head in first and loud kind of person. I know how to do things stealthy but I'm to inpatient to do it without cause. I'm a good listener and I avoid conversation but I can generally start one up pretty easily.

Biography:I was born on a military base. That's all I know about it. My dad was a military commander and apparent the location of my birth is classified.

I spent The majority of my life moving from military base to military base never making any lasting friends. I gained a diploma high school diploma when I was sixteen through home schooling on the military bases.

I was then allowed to join the military with my fathers permission. I went through basic training and was asked if I wanted to participate in a military experiment. I excepted.

I was then subject to a chemical along with nineteen others in my group. Training continued with this group and soon some of use died off, others fell into permanent comas. Before I knew it I was the only one left. I was stuck. I couldn't leave or escape. Then I collapsed.

I awoke two weeks later with a scream. Actually it was my power manifesting itself. I instantly had no control over it and the building I was in started to shake.A doctor rushed in and injected me.

I woke sever hours later gagged. I was ordered to not speak, get dressed and that I'd be escorted to my new team. I followed orders and entered a room with several other soldiers. We were all the results of different experiments.

Several years and some power training later we were the most success full team in the military. We had grown close and were sent on another standard secret mission. We had to kill the bad guys in a place we weren't suppose to be in a place that doesn't exist. Well standard except that the project we were a part of got out to the politicians. They wanted a clear sweep of us before anything got out to the public as the experiments broke more laws than I could ever know.

As we were finishing up the mission my comm cracked in. It was my dad warning me but the connection was full of static and I signaled to the team to move forward and I'd catch up. They got a hundred yards away from me when the artillery hit right on them and the connection cleared. "They are going to kill you get out now!" came from my comm and I booked it knowing a wall of shrapnel was between me and them.

I got away from the site and illegally made it back to the states to find out what happened. I learned of what happened with the politicians and the my team leader survived the betrayal as well. However he believes that I was in on what happened and swore to hunt me down. Last I heard he had joined a criminal organization to gain funds to help hunt me down.

Its been three years since that happened and I've been hiding from the government since. Recently I started to fight crime in a discreet way. Muggings and robberies are fairly common to pass by and as I'd witness them I'd use my power to send a low volume frequency at the criminals head. This caused disorientation and confusion throwing the criminal off balance allowing people to get away or for the criminal to be apprehended by the authorities.

Now I wish to use my power to fight for the better meant of society and your team seems like the best way to do it.

Notes: Well my ex team leader is out to get me. He can condense any matter that makes contact with him and he has a large scar across his face and wears the same armor as I do. That will be the best way to identify him.

Name: Michael Sterling
Hero Alias: I don't have one at the moment
Age: 27
Powers: I control heat and fire. I can heat objects within twenty feet of me up to two hundred and thirty degrees Fahrenheit, and set fire to things I come in physical contact with. Additionally, I am quite resistant to heat myself, finding temperatures in the high nineties or low hundreds quite comfortable while others find them unbearably hot, and flame feeling only a bit warm with no adverse affects. Something I wouldn't consider a full-on power but rather an ever present effect of my powers is that my ambient body temperature is 119 degrees.
Weaknesses: Cold effects me to an abnormally strong degree. For reasons I'm not sure of, I will feel uncomfortably cold at temperatures of about 70, I'll start to feel the effects of frostbite if I don't stay bundled up at 50 degrees. Ice causes me extreme physical pain. Dry ice, of which I've only come in physical contact with once, thankfully, causes a near-instantaneous case of extreme frostbite, the type typically associated with being stranded in the arctic for days.
Weapons: A keep a decent-sized knife on my belt, which I'll draw and heat up if the need arises, though it's mostly for show.
Appearance Civillian: Depends on the season, though most often I'll be seen wearing a sweater under a medium-sized coat, with blue jeans and boots.
Appearance Hero: Replace the coat and jeans with fireman's gear, and add a ski mask with one big hole across the eyes.
Personality: I've been described by some to be eccentric, though it wasn't always so. Being in a state of perpetual fever, even with a fire resistant brain, will still wear down on you eventually.
Biography: Well, things started when I was nine. I got a fever, as do many children. One hundred and two degrees. However, the fever never went down, but I seemed to recover. When I was fourteen, in Home Ec class (I wanted to be a chef, shut up), I was somewhat angry at one of my friends. She yelped and dropped her pan; the handle had become extremely hot without it ever touching flame. On a hunch, I tried thinking angry thoughts at another person. He collapsed, and was rushed to the hospital with a 112 fever. I...didn't try it again for a while. At sixteen, while practicing the violin, it burst into flame. Despite it being right against my face, I had no burns. At twenty-two, I was starting to master my powers, and becoming more aware of my vulnerability to the cold. At that time, I was working as a roadie for a rock band, and was preparing one of the smoke machines. Curious, and somewhat drunk, I wondered what would happen if I touched the incredibly cold dry ice. My left index and middle fingers turned black from frostbite after a few seconds, and they had to amputate them. I finally figured I could do some good with my powers at twenty six, and began the trials and tribulations of vigilantism.

The Promenade, Nova City USA 12:36 PM

"Shall I head out now sir?" Sebastian the chauffeur asked Garrus as he picked up one of the small sandwiches his boss was making.
"Yes...wait you're still here? I thought you were supposed to leave twenty minutes ago?" Garrus replied in a somewhat frantic tone, giving Sebastian an annoyed look as the man took another one of the sandwiches.
"Indeed I was supposed to but Mr. Masterson told me to wait until he was ready to join me in picking up each new member," Sebastian responded, looking up at the annoyed Garrus and slowly walking out before any threats of losing his job came about.

Garrus groaned as he watched Sebastian leave to go and get the limo ready, cursing slightly as he finished putting the finishing touches on the sandwich platter. 'Number of things to do: greet new members, make sure Levi has the surprise done, do the training, take Joel to the vet to get his shots tonight...' he thought as he looked into the lounge, wondering where everyone was.

Sebastian, meanwhile, had just finished reviewing the list of new members ("Quite a few this time.") and there whereabouts ("Not too far apart like the last bunch."), placing the info into his GPS as he awaited for Richard Masterson to join him. He noted that it was not quite as hot as it was the previous day, wondering if the heat wave that was engulfing Nova City was finally over.

Richard was in his suit and out the door as soon as Sebastian had inputed everything into the GPS. He loved being the first to greet the new members, it was always interesting to see where the limo would go and to get out of The Promenade for a while. He poured his usual glass of scotch as soon as he was in the limo. He got on his communicator to speak to the others.

"So is anyone coming with me, or am I alone like last time?" He asked to anyone on their own comms.

Steven sat quietly in the shade, waiting for the limo to appear. Twenty minutes, fourty-two seconds late, he thought to himself. I'm forced to apply, and they're bloody late! How unprofessional! Taking a deep breath, Steven centered himself, adjusted his sunglasses, and sat back down.

Alex spoke into her com. "I'll come with you Richard. I think I need some time out of the Promenade and away from work for a while anyway honey." Alex said getting up from the couch in the lounge and walked out of the front door and too the limo.

She said down next to him and kissed him softly. "To think I was in the new recruits shoes not two years ago." Alex said smiling some and looked down at her left hand. "And to think this has only been on my finger for a few months." Alex said holding up her wedding ring.

"I'll pass on that, Richard. I'll meet the new guys when they get in," Katie answered as she flopped down on a deckchair made of plants in the midday sun, a little worn out from the heat of the day. She snapped her fingers and a large palm frond grew out of the side of her room, giving her some shade as she relaxed.

[hr]

"All right, Mother, I'll see what I can do. Yes, I'll email you updates, though you might see me on the news. I'll let you know if I'm someone else. Okay. Love you, bye," Rowan Ward said, ending the call on his cellphone as he walked out to the pavement. "All right then, Silhouette. Standard operating procedure. These guys have powers, they're like you, they can probably show you how to use shapeshifting effectively."

With that, he adjusted one of the suitcases he carried and waited for his pickup to show. He was wearing his natural appearance, the form from which he could change into someone else. There was no sense in meeting the Society when disguised as another person.

Michael sat on the park bench, duffel bag at his side. "Cooling back down," he thought to himself, pulling his coat on tighter, "That heat wave was awesome." He flipped open his phone to check the time. "Aaaaand they're late. Ah well, they probably have good reason. Fightin' the mayor of evil or something."

Jason sat, perched upon the flat of the roof, the sunbeams of high noon cast directly down upon him. As he looked out into the city, a small smile stretched across his face as Richard's message came through his comm. He rose to his feet eagerly, walking towards the edge.

"I totally forgot that new recruits were coming in today. But, i'm with Kate. I can wait till they get here." He answered into the earpiece, cargo shorts blowing in the wind.

"How could you forget? It's the only reason Garrus was so busy this morning." Erebus replied.

"Oh yeah...I forgot about that too." Jason thought in return.

"Geez kid, your memory's gone to the shitter."

"I can't help Ero. My mind's been on other things lately." He continued, swan diving off of the tall establishment, black tendrils quickly encasing around his bare feet, forming into hard armor. He eventually came in contact with the ground with a dull thud, his feet unscathed.

"Like what? Are you thinking about what happened at the beach?" Erebus said, Jason's eyes widening, face contorting into a concerned grimace, accompanied by a sigh.

"Well, now I am. Thanks for that." He replied out loud, Erebus snickering in return.

Brian slowly lugged his huge hockey bag down to the curb of Bartlett Hall. It literally had everything he had in there, that and his laptop bag consisted of all his possessions in Nova City. He was told to pack light since the dorms were very small so he did. He checked the clock on his cell phone, it was about the time he was told to be out on the sidewalk. He looked around the street, there was nothing coming in either direction.

"So, what is up with this? They tell me there's a limo coming and there is nothing....oh maybe that's it." A sleek black limo started appearing into his peripheral vision, becoming sharper as it came closer. "Nice, this is going to be sweet. First time in a limo."

Richard saw Brian through the window.

"I still can't believe it actually happened. A bit of a shock to the system to find my playboy lifestyle over. Then again, nice to be settling down a bit." He said to Alex as he opened the door and sat back as he waited for the man to climb in before speaking.

"Welcome to the Society, I am Richard Masterson AKA Blue Steel and this is Alex Masterson AKA Mist. You are?"

"Uh, I'm Brian," he said a bit timidly as he climbed in with his stuff. "I uh, just Brian, right now. Kinda new to this whole superhero thing." He shut the door behind him and quickly found a seat as the limo started moving again. "I mean, this is all so professional and stuff. I just hope I can catch up quick enough with you guys."

Richard couldn't help but laugh at the word Professional being used to describe the Society.

"Oh I'm sorry for laughing, but you will learn that the words Society and professional do not go together. Only time we are even slightly professional is in a fight. Nice to meet you though Brian, I'm sure you'll do fine in the Society."
