It's an MMO. Monthly subscriptions are pretty normal things.

If you're lucky you can steal monthly passes from attacking other players. Those monthly passes are represented by in-game items which can be taken if your ship is blown up and then either used or sold for in-game currency so you can either loot them or buy them with in-game currency and play for free.
Afraid I have to point out a little error here.

PLEX cards, are destroyed when the ship blows up that carries them. The only way to get a Plex car is to buy them off the market, get one as a gift, or buy 2 with real money.
Actually, I have heard of cases where PLEX have been dropped from destroyed ships. It's just that there's a certain percentage chance where the entire stack of items (in this case, PLEX) will drop, and if that percentage doesn't turn up, you get nothing (or at least, not that item).

(PS A month's subscription is 15 Euros, not Pounds.)

Yes, but WoW is £18.49 for two months.

It's $34.99 for two months, which is a 60card online price.

Or, as another poster said, 15 Euro a month.

Basically, you will be lost. You will be confused. You will not know what to do next.

However, if you can pass that stage, you can do whatever you want.

Thanks for correcting that. I've never actually played EVE, but I'm also interested. Just heard something along those lines from someone I know who plays.

Rule #1 of EvE - Trust no one

Rule #2 of EvE - Never fly what you can't lose two times over

Rule #3 of EvE - Anyone who says it takes days/months/years to do anything in the game #1 doesn't know shit about EvE #2 Never accomplished much in EvE and can't stand the freedom #3 doesn't know shit about EvE - A trial player can PVP solo and win - or earn tons of cash in the 14 days you have. You just need to pick your fights - or pick your buy/sell orders.

Rule #4 of EvE - Don't ***** about the cost of it - only MMO where you can pay for it with in game cash

Rule #5 of EvE - Bigger does not mean better - in addition older does not mean better. My main is a 5 year old toon - few months back I died to a 3 week old character - He was in a frigate and I was in a battleship. He caught me (prob with a scanning tool) with out weapons and in low sec. I deserved the death.

Once again - don't listen to anyone who says the game is boring or you can't do anything with a trial account. Unlike other MMOs - you get out of EvE what you put into it. Nothing more - nothing less.

Get information about people that like and dislike the game.
Try it out yourself.
Get some more data.
Form your opinion on it.
...
Are you enjoying it? Or are you not?

Personally, i dont reallly care about EVE. Seems too slow and full of griefer to catch my attention. Then again, i never liked MMOs to begin with so my opinion is uninformed.
