The hair thing is quite right. I LOVE long hair, but women with short hair turn me off. EVEN Halle Berry's Short hair wasn't attractive to me... And if long hair drapes over the Breasts.... I'll be in my room now...

for me, i prefer long hair, ALTHOUGH there are always exceptions to the rule

some ppl are suited to long hair (both male and female) and some are suited to short hair and the rare ones that can pull off both but at that point you know you've found someone who has true beauty and isn't just the "hair and makeup"

but then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder too

On boobs in games:

I'm not sure who really will believe those ads, after all, a free MMO won't have the funding to create graphics like those they deliver in their ads. Hell, I doubt anyone with any marketing sense would even employ that strategy. It will just lure in the idle teenager or recluse drawn in by the promise of boobies. Once their disappointed, they leave in disgust, ne'er to return.

On things that go 'bunk' in the night:

Long hair is nice, but I've seen some women able to pull off the short hair or even shaved head look pretty well. I guess it's how your head's shaped that determines it. I've seen some people try it and it only reveals a road map of bad skin and various bumps and lesions. Ugh...

Granted, the nerd is a predictable breed that springs on the promise of boobs like ants on spilled soda but that's not to say they're the only ones. If so many people are playing these MMO games then the developers must be doing something right, boobs or no boobs, though I think it's the boobs.

Whatever. I've never actually played one of those free MMOs, but if you're playing an MMO and you like it then I guess...play it, boobs or no boobs.

if you are 15, take a lot around your high school, look at the girls in your class or the seniors, then look at the female teachers, both young and old ones, you'll notice a difference in their breasts, unless the teacher has had a boob job

Pertaining to your other point 'bout sex being the main motivator: Sure, while humanity was still the cave-man, the urge to reproduce would have been a primal urge that couldn't be ignored. Now-a-days though, I believe that while, yes, sex plays a big part in life, you can't say that it's the main motivator. I still reckon the survival instinct is more important.

Edit: I prefer my women with long hair, though I will admit there are some women who look better with short hair.

Oh, and doesn't this conversation totally exclude the women of the boards (uh, not counting lesbians)?

well see while we aren't overtly sexual in our pursuits, it's still our main focus, it's just more subtle as of late. it's one of those things that we say to ourselves "we aren't doing this" because we're pulling a smoke and mirrors trick to disguise our overt sexual advertising.

to draw a parallel, in the new battlestar galatica they say "fraking" a lot, this is to get around the fcc censors. they really would be saying "fucking". robot chicken has a great spoof of this, even voiced by the bsg ppl.

like look at the ps3 cover of the gta iv special edition, a girl licking/sucking on a lollipop. look at the clothing they sell to young women and women in general, yeah nothing behind having the words "juicy" on the butt of your pants. then there's the bratz dolls, they are dressed like a bunch of easy skanks with gigantic heads

look at all the beer ads and stuff like axe body spray, they are all aimed towards sex. you either advertise your product with sex or humour and occasionally both

While I get sex is a heavily-used, and obviously very potent, motivator for someone to do something (for your examples, it would be buying a product), I don't think it is the main motivator for people to do things. In all seriousness, I'd reckon that regardless of how hot she is, the rational man wouldn't give up his life for sex. But, this may be just me... in which case, the human race will die. Very soon.
