The Escapist seems to be broken. I can't log in on google chrome, haven't been able to in almost 20 hours. I am currently using firefox, which I hate >_< to let you know so you can fix this issue as soon as possible. I'm sure there is a different way I'm supposed to do this, but I don't know it, so please delete this thread once the right people are aware of the problem.

Did you try turning off and on?

But seriously that's a bit vague, when did this start happening? has it happened before? what did you do before you couldn't log in anymore?

Only suggestion I can give is delete cookies or try to re-install chrome, clearing all caches and such.

I'm important. But I can't really help. I guess this is what politicians must feel like.

You mis-spelled 'impotent'

OT: I actually came here to make exactly the same joke as Newtonyd and bolster my own ego by cliaming to be an important and valuable member of this community. Now that I've been ninja'd, I'm at a loss, so I'm going to just wander away again.

@Op

All joking aside, I ran into an issue at work with my main desktop not being able to stay logged in after you've closed the browser. I also had issues with this site being unable to login via FB and would have to reload the page to attempt to login normally.

I corrected this problem by completely uninstalling Chrome and then reinstalling again. Whatever the problem is it was corrected with the reinstallation. Anothing thing too; no matter what options you had set for browser behavior (stay logged in, log out after close, etc.) changing them had no effect on the browser behavior and would still log me out of every single website I had login cookies for.

Just so your aware too, you and I are not the only persons who've had this problem, however Google didn't have a fix for it the last time I looked before uninstalling - About a month ago.

My suggestion: Uninstall Chrome, reboot, reinstall chrome, then try again to see if it works properly.

captcha: nope, chuck testa

THE ONLY AND ONLY - Not sure if there can be only one...

I didn't do anything before it started working. It's happened before, usually if I try to log in after 2-3 times I start getting warnings about server overload. When it's happened before, it always fixed itself after a day or two. Running on 3 days now my chrome still won't log in.

Also, I've tried everything simple like that I can think of.

I think this happened to me once ages ago and it turned out someone had mistakenly done something weird to my account settings, effectively banning me for no reason. Get in touch with the technical team after clearing your cache.
