Uwe Boll is forgiven in my eyes, and it's all because of Postal: The Movie. :p

Plus, the other movies he's made are so bad that it's funny. Favourite lines from The House of the Dead:

-"You did all this so you could become immortal. Why?"

-"To live forever!"

... Hello retard! Now why woul you basically answer your own question? :p

Seriously, it's so bad that I both cringe and laugh at the same time whnever I see it. XD
So what you're saying is, Uwe Boll > Tim Burton.

No. No no no. No no no no no. No. No no no. No. No. No.

Depends.

Uwe Boll is certainly > Tim Burton if we're talking about making me crack up in laughter at "Epic Fail". :)

The thing about Postal: The Movie, was just that it forgave Boll for the fact that he had raped several video game properties by making movies about them. Because of Postal I can now laugh at his works.

But better than Tim Burton att making movies? Nah... Not by a longshot. I like the fact that you can pretty much recognize a Tim Burton movie just by looking at it. His visual style is quite distinct.

If you don't like Tim Burton, then don't watch his films.
we like some of his work but he has been known to piss on a classic as well as make them. but I woudn't know if it was good or bad unless I watch it. I my opion though it wasn't that bad, more mediocre.

So you want to stop a filmmaker, that I think we can all agree has made good films, while Uwe Boll is still loose?!? BULLSHIT!
But with Uwe Boll everyone knows his films aren't worth the DVD they come on, whereas Burton continues to slash through classical films with a 'gothic' machete and his minions of fanboys behind him!

guess who

The thing I didn't like about Tim Burton's Alice is that it just didn't feel like Alice in wonderland to me. Although I went in expecting the movie version of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane so there is kinda that bias there.

I honestly don't have a problem with Tim Burton or his movies, except the ones that are simply pretty cinematic fanfiction.

[small]Yes Burton, we get it. You're a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Planet of the Apes, etc................here's an idea................. DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL![/small]

This wasn't Alice in wonderland.

This was Through the looking Glass if you read the book. And it was more dark than the happy stoner disney story. But even that was a shroo trip by the writer. Sorry man, that was a pretty good movie, but Through the looking glass is a bit to long.

It's not 'Through the Looking Glass' either. I think it's supposed to be set after both of them, I'm not entirely sure where it was trying to fit in.

Well said op, I agree.

As I have said before...

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.171099-Poll-Wrecking-remakes

...Tim Burton is not the director he once was. He, along with Michael Bay, Uwe Boll, M. Night Shaymayalananlayn, should have his film making equipment removed and UN weapons sent to his home to confirm that he isn't deveoping any more WMTs (Whatchamacallits).
Well he and M.Night have made good movies it's just that it's all becoming old.(twists & darkness)

my two favorite Burton movies are sleepy hollow and Ed Wood.
Thank you, goodnight!

Hmm your right. But I didn't enjoy it. Well Depp did slip into Jack Sparrow a few times. But I chalk that up to being a violent Scottsman. He did have a claymore in that last fight...

Hmm guess you need to take it what it was. America Mcgee had the same vision. And kinda like it. Guess the question is, if you hire Burton as a director... and you don't want it turning Gothic or dark. Why the hell would you hire him? Unless that's what you wanted...

Didn't particularly like Nightmare before Christmas, my friends thought all the songs were totally catchy, whereas I didn't

Some of they have apparel from the movies, I thought it was crap and ugly.

He just makes lots of movies that look more or less exactly the same

Because why fix something that aint broke?

I mean, look at Toy Story 3, the prequel was released 10 odd years ago, and have they changed a single way they animate it? FUCK THAT
