I had to get rid of my hamster when I was younger,Poor little guy when we moved had no space so let him go in the yard,Now that I am older I realize his last days must have been spent in fear trying to live in the wild before being eaten.

Taking away my ps2 - it hadnt moved once in 5 years and left a dark rectangle on the wood - i nearly cried but then i replaced it with a shiny new ps3...
Why would you cry from replacing it with a ps3?
It's called sentimentality...some people are a tad to materialistic to truly under stand it :p.

my video machine when I got my HDTV and now I have a few thousand VHS' and no way to watch them, I could never get rid of the actual tapes though. they're like an old oak table DVD's are like a cold stainless steel table in a mortuary.

now for the nerdiest answer...this old ring I had, I loved that thing so much. then this old guy saw me talking to it and made me get rid of it...(sigh)

2 girlfriends, for reasons I've already posted elsewhere.

(Just to be clear I don't mean 'get rid of' in the hatchet, shovel and a bag of lime sense)

I'm giving up a bear I've had since birth... he was twice my size, now only an arm length.
I'm also giving up Guitar Hero. The new setlist just doesn't have enough to make me stay with it when I could be playing Rush, AC/DC and GnR. So sorry, Ozzy and Jimi, maybe next time...

My favourite blanket.

I must've been something like 5, maybe six years old. We had a car accident because of ice on the road, and were waiting for the ANWB (dutch version of the ADAC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADAC), we noticed another car, which had a similar accident. Inside it was an old lady.
My parent, who tried to be nice to her, went to the car and told me they needed my blanket for a few seconds. They gave it to that old hag...

I still cry something, when I'm lying in bed...

Cheerfulness.

That and a stamp collection. (Seriously, those stamps could be worth a fortune these days.)

My first car. A 1989 R31 Nissan Skyline. I got it for 300$, and drove it for years. Took me on quite a few road trips to the southern states of Oz. Sure, it was a rusting metal death trapa that kept breaking, and wasn't particularly nice to look at, but I loved that machine. She finally died on the way to work one day. Left my universal joints, driveshaft, drivetrain, half my gear box and parts of my engine on a major motorway in peak morning traffic.

I'd have cried if I wasn't copping abuse from every compassionless motorist going past.

Hrm... I would have to say this huge tree in my backyard. As a kid, my friends/brother and I played in it so much. There were so many memories attached to that tree, but it got a tree-disease and had to be murdered

Haha, man, saying a tree got murdered is funny for some reason.
