Hey all. My Steam account having been disabled (I'm not sure if it's permanent, but I have no idea why they did it, it's been a week - should I have heard of them by now?), and most of my friends having gone on holiday, I need something to do.

Whether a project or activity, I don't care, as long as it's interesting enough to engage me. All suggestions are appreciated. This should be good.

PS I've been trying to get a job for ages, and am persevering.

PPS And no, masturbating is not a valid suggestion.

Masturbation is always a valid suggestion...

You could read a book, play another random game, or watch a few movies or something. Do you like anime? You could take to watching a series or two during the week.

You should go down to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of Something From the Nightside, and possibly all of it's sequels. Every time a new entry in the series comes out I end up glued to it. It's the most fun you can possibly have while reading.

You could start a forum with a question and see the replies grow. :p

Or you could look through other forums and comment on what seems interesting. It's what I'm doing now.

I already am reading, though I tend to only do so in half hour bursts. Anime...hmmm...the only anime I recall watching is Spirited Away (which was superb), and I would use the term 'anime' very loosely for that one.

Suggest a series, from a distance, I can't see anime appealing to me. Change my mind.

I rarely recommend anime, because of the varying tastes in people, but the one I do is Ghost in the Shell: SAC or 2ndGIG.
that or you can be struck confused by Cat Soup.

Ooh, terrific!

Lets start with movies.

Akira - Lovely sci-fi anime, may not be for you and may be a tad confusing in the end, but it's lovely.

Paprika - Slightly mind fuck, but simply brilliant. One of the most fun animes movies I've seen.

Tokyo Godfathers - A Christmas movie that very heavily hides that 'Christmas' element so that someone like me who is very against religion can still enjoy it heavily. It's quite funny.

Perfect Blue - Perfect mind fuck. You'll never be more confused...

Now for anime series, a good place to start would be...

Death Note - The first half is simply brilliant.

FMA - Either the original or Brotherhood, which just finished. Both versions are good, though I prefer Brotherhood.

Yu Yu Hakusho - Wonderful fighting "Shonen" anime. The characters actually use their heads to think how to win. 'Twas a great series.

Paranoia Agent - Fun, though the end is also a bit of a mind fuck.

Welcome to the NHK - Very funny, but it knows when and how to be serious.

That should cover everything to try and get you into anime.

Do you have Netflix Instant Stream? If so, watch all 7 seasons of Buffy. Then watch all 5 Seasons of Angel. Then watch Firefly and then Serenity. Wait for Dollhouse S2 to come out and then watch both seasons of that.
I do not :(

Is it available for the UK.

Also, somewhat more importantly - what is it?

I don't know. Instant Stream is one of the features that come with alot of Netflix plans. It allows you to, get this, instantly stream shows and movies (including all of the above) to a 360, Wii, PS3 and/or PC.
Is payment still required for said shows and movies? Or do they come free after you subscribe to Netflix?

...You know, you could, um, go on a walk. Through your neighborhood. Why has no one suggested this?

Edit: This [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_exploration] is also pretty fun.

I go for scenic runs pretty much every day, but yeah, people need to get out more.

Physical exercise is the best thing when you have spare time unless you are disabled of course as you cannot be presumptious.
Go running, join the gym and lift some weights and you may be surprised as how good you feel afterwards :)

Lets consult advice dog.

If this is not a viable option, then I dont know. Find a hobby. Fishing perhaps, it's relaxing and passes time well. Birdwatching similar to fishing, but less hands on I guess. Swimming? Or maybe go to the gym, exercise is good for everyone. Read a book? There's a lot of books about you know.
