Is there a name for the activity of looking at a picture of someone seeking approval/attention, only to comment on a random background object instead?

ex: pic of someone
Comment: "Holy crap!?? I have that same couch!"

Companionship and affection. Romantically speaking I am the most unsuccessful person you'll never meet. Specifically I was trying to figure out what it is about me that is so fundamentally off-putting. I've seen every kind of person hooked up -- not always with someone I'd want to be with, but hooked up nonetheless. I don't think I'll ever know the answer to this one. Maybe I have repulsive pheromones.

Identifying music often defeats me, especially if the bands name themselves after other popular things. If you start a band, calling yourself The International Hotel or something is not the best move, just FYI.

Wouldn't that be just trolling? As in you know that the other person is seeking attention and validation on their looks and you're specifically denying them that satisfaction. Haven't heard any specifically trendy name for it yet.

There was a short animated movie on Newgrounds I saw many, many years ago that made me cry. Oh my god, the music...

It had a whole variety of people who die in different ways and in different places, who then boarded a train containing everyone who died in the movie.

There was this one part with a soldier on a battlefield who was killed by a bullet or an explosion (can't remember) and like the others, he hopped on the train. Later in the movie, he was revived to continue fighting and it cuts to him coughing and getting off the train. Don't know why it stuck to me so much.

Jesus Christ, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

Well i had these very vague memories of a Nintendo game, i was about 5-7 last time i played it so the only clear thing i could remember was that you would go into tunnels and need a candle or torch to be able to see, i gave up long ago on ever finding it but out of random luck talking with my current girlfriend one day turns out she had owned it as a child turns out the game was RoboWarrior

The name of this fairly bloody, weapon based, 3D, arcade fighting game I played as a kid in Wales. There was a big dude in what I remember to be a suit made of barrels, the first stage was surround by spikes, but falling out of the arena just damaged you rather than instantly killing you. As you progressed through the game, you saw the heads of the characters you'd beaten on spikes. I remember Tekken 3 being in the same arcade.

It was like the quintessential post-MK fighter.

I remember asking in the thread in Gaming Discussion, too, but to no avail

I think my whole life consists of searching things I once saw but will never ever find again. Like that weird Korean MMO 3D Animation/Show I saw. Which had a punk rocking cow in its intro. Or that weird European cartoon, which had a scene of some kids inflating their penis to make a bridge to a huge asshole in the sky.



...I kind of wonder if those are just some weird fever dreams I had.

For me it was this French game on the pc during the late 90's I think. It was pretty much like Lara Croft but without the guns and alot of running and the game was told as a flashback.

Outside of certain songs (or should I still call them "modern jingles" at this point) used in commercials that either don't have a full version available [to buy] or something non-existent like that, there was this one side-scrolling shoot-em-up involving your space ship, shooting down asteroids and other alien spaceships while collection certain power-ups that not only upgraded your ship, but also allowed you to switch between which part of the ship gets upgraded on the fly, even after you've collected an upgrade X amount of time ago, to the point that you could literally fill up the whole screen with your STANDARD LASER BULLETS OF FURY!

Also, if you were one shot away from dying, a female computer voice would tell you, in the most calmest of computer voices, "Destruction Eminent!"

Yep... Too bad the game was part of this one CD-ROM game collection with games that, even to this day, I can't seem to find on just description alone... (If only I still had that CD-ROM, since I last remember it being scratched the fuck out due to problems with the disk drive...)
