Something you've done that you're proud of

I guess mine would be that I passed my music HSC exam by doing viva voce's.

The story behind it is that I was going to do more performances, but about 10 weeks before HSC I developed tendinitis, and thus couldn't perform.

So in that amount of time, I came up with 3 Viva Voce's (Pretty much 3 10 minute speeches where the judges could interrupt and ask questions whenever they felt like it). That also means though, that I could not do my Compulsory performance (something that everyone has to do). The performance was worth 10% and because I applied for the disability allowance for HSC, they would add the 10% to my music score if it was below the average with only my 3 Vivas.

But with the 3 viva's alone I managed to get 86%, which was apparently well above the average, and as such the performance marks weren't even added to it, and I got within the top 10% of music students.

Yeah, I realize I have had a few drinks, and that this entire thing may be difficult to read, but screw it I am still proud anyway!

I won a daily 5th and 3rd on newgrounds! I know that doesn't mean much to most people but it was a huge deal to me.

Link to the submissions? I remember trying to get around to putting up stuff on Newgrounds, but only ended up posting a few crappy sample bits when I started experimenting with animation.

It really does take a lot of practice and work to get good at this sorta thing. Not many people have the patience to get really good.

I'm proud that after many years I finally got a band that works and we recorded, printed and mass produced our first album, also got it on Itunes and Amazon MP3. Feels good man.

Ohhh god I don't even need to tell me I could tell you come horror stories before I learned my lesson. There is a lot of screw ups in the first movie just because I had to many graphics and such going on at once I had the program freeze up every time I did anything. Luckily I have learned ways to tone down file sizes and such since then but still.

That I have gotten over all my Anxieties to be able to hold a job for five months and have a girlfriend for over a year. Doesn't sound like to much people, but I did it out of sheer force of will and no drugs.

Getting into university is a pretty great achievement I guess. Apart from that, my proudest moments were the gigs I did with my band last summer. Even though there weren't many people, the feeling was epic, and I thought we put on a good performance.

I won my first League of Legends PvP match going 21/1/11 with Diana on solo top lane.

For real though, probably the things I am most proud of are things like service.
Every year around Thanksgiving/Christmas time me and a bunch of families and friends from my church Ward go to the farm town 30 miles from us and go corn gleaning. Last year, we went gleaning and the Sunday afterwards, we were all notified that we had ended up feeding around 10,000 people.

Things like that make me proud. I can't think of one singular triumph like taking down an armed criminal or stopping a robbery.

Some things that aren't exactly "acts of pride" but things I did that I think are awsome are things like the time I was at an Airsoft Field (I play a lot) and we were doing a Night-Game (typically Night-Games are far more "simulated" than normal pick-up matches) and I and my two friends were in a fireteam together and the map we were playing on was about a 2 square miles (think of it as an "L" shape turned 90 degrees Clockwise") and at the start of the match we B-lined it for about 100 yards to the treeline since we really hadn't come up with a proper plan to take out the enemy (the objective was to infiltrate the enemy base, retrieve a hostage and lead him back to our base). During the rush, we had been fired on and one thing lead to another... sure enough I was alone in the pitch black backwoods of southern Florida (not the best place to be alone in the pitch black, on and by the way it gets dark at around 5:30-6:00 p.m. here) and for about half an hour I was slowly shadowing a couple flashlights I had spotted blinking about 300 yards ahead of me.

So for the next twenty minutes I was slowly getting closer and closer to the target.

Sure enough I was about 25 yards away, and after going Sam Fischer on their ass... I stepped on a branch and broke it. Sure enough the lights started strobing again, this time in my face, and through a series of maneuvers, of which to this day I have no idea how I pulled off, I dove, cralwed, sumersaulted(?) through the thicket. When I came out of my last roll, I popped up against a chest-high wall 6 foot by 6 foot board. I leaned from cover, shot one of my pursuers in the back and the other promptly turned and was lined right up to shoot my face.

Luckily I had just beaten Max Payne 3 earlier that day.

Suffice to say, my last pursuer was shocked... and had to go the dentist.

Oh and by the way, your friends that you end up getting split up with don't care how good of friends you are after you shoot them in the mouth three times with a 425 fps M4.

Recently, in one band concert on the trombone, our school's Wind Ensemble made our superintendent cry (a 30-year-old man, I might add), and then not long after played a solo in a dixieland song and got like a dozen compliments afterward, despite it being the first time I felt like I was going to pass out on stage. It was a pretty great night

I did my student teaching at a high school last semester. I taught "Romeo and Juliet" to a bunch of 14-year-olds. Even though they were skeptical at first, a number of them came up to me after the unit was over and admitted to me that they were surprised at how much they actually enjoyed reading Shakespeare.

I have never walked taller than I did that day.

Uhhh.... I'm a pretty good artist, I guess. Though, I haven't refined my skills nearly as much as I should have by now. Though by laymen standards I'm viewed as a pretty accomplished artist. I like to think I'm proud of my artistic vision, but I can't honestly say that until I've truly finished my pet project (which probably won't be for years). Sadly, my utter lack of general motivation and diligence is creating serious problems for me right now. Artist's temperament and all that, but it's really no excuse.

OT: Um... I've dug up more virtual ores out of the ground in Minecraft than anyone else I've met. That's probably not something to be proud of, but I honestly can't think of much right now.

Pierce Brosnan called me a technical wizard for my flashwork on Bag of Bones! That made my frigging summer last year. I wish I could have worked on some of the other CG FX on that, as I like Stephen King and thought I could have greatly sped up the delivery of the CG work, simply based on approximation.

I designed and modeled in 3D the titular white whale for the German TV mini-series 'Moby Dick', in 2009/2010. That was a rough slog of a project- one of the biggest budgeted projects to land in the Maritimes in recent memory.

I knew that, if I let the relationship continue and kept on acting like I loved her, we were going to have sex.
In spite of that, I friendzoned her because I did not want to have sex with someone who thought I loved them but I didn't love back.

Doesn't mean I won't have sex with her if she asks, knowing that I don't feel the same way, though.

Does it has to be recent as the only one I can think of recently is work related (which is kind of dull/ mudane)?

The past stuff I was proud was like when I won in this Geography competition for making a great booklet on Volacano (thanks to Horrible Geography) and I score 90% on this science test on electricity which was the highest marks of the class (meaning I was first place). That was a fun day as my peers accuseme of cheating which I did (it was so easy to remember the voltage as you only need to remember the amount of 0's in it).
