Sometimes IGN just makes me go "Wow..."

HE has some valid complaints, most noticeable the continuing characters thing. You could literally call any game "Final Fantasy #" and its a sequel that will be praised. The games don't have much in relation to each other, except a few common story and universe themes.

Wait, why is that a valid complaint? It's not an outright fabrication, sure, but it's not exactly a "fault". It's not particularly true, either, since there have been a few direct sequels to FF games. Really, I don't quite understand how a self-contained story is a bad thing, especially when it's becoming more common for games to intentionally leave plotlines unresolved to try and make more people buy the sequel.

Because Final Fantasy is basically like star wars now, get any random game in development, put Final Fantasy on the cover, and its a hit. I think he was complaining that people aren't as much in love with the game, as they are the name.

I'm a poet and I wasn't even aware of that.

Meh. Live and let live.

I can see why someone would have MW2 as thier game of the year, especially a site like IGN who need to remain on good terms with big publishers.

Mine was Dragon Age.

Dragon Age kicked the shit out of MW2 in every way I can think of... except maybe their death/game time ratio
