What to you guys is a song cover that surpasses the original. To me Stone Sour's version of Wicked Game (Original by Chris Isaak)took what was good about the original and just enhanced it perfectly. Three days grace's version is ok, HIM's version is an excersice in fail. Your toughts?

These two for sure:
All along the watchtower by Bear McCreary.
Knocking on Heaven's door by Guns 'n Roses.

Faith No More's cover of War Pigs is the first that comes to mind. I love their version of it.

All along the watchtower by Jimi Hendrix.

Nothing can beat it! It's simply too much epicness

"The Man Who Sold the World", covered by Nirvana. So much better than David Bowie's version.

Ninja'd on both of those.

So, I'll say Metallica's Turn the Page.

Don't get me wrong, the Seger version was awesome. It just wasn't as awesome as Metallica's.

Arch Enemy - Symphony of Destruction.

One song that will never have a cover exceed it. Is Welcome Home, by King Diamond.

I rather liked the BoA version of Scream over the original by Monrose.

Better still is Richard Cheese's rendition.

In fact, MOST of Richard Cheese's renditions are better than the originals. Down With the Sickness anyone?

I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but... Killswitch Engaged Holy Diver. Also Metallica's Whiskey In The Jar, Children of Bodom's Ghost Riders in the Sky and Oops I Did It Again.
