It's really what you want out of the experience. Do you want a sad and moving song? Or an up-beat dance song?CrimsonRegret said:Yeah I'd have to say that's another instance where I like both songs. But in the end I like the Gary Jules cover a lot more. Thank you Donnie DarkoNouw said:Give this man a medal, he turned 'CandyShop' into a hilarious song.Lekonua said:Weird Al's Bohemian Polka.
When people run in circles it's a very, very mad world.
Personally i think Nirvana's version is massively better, can't stand bowie though.Rylot said:Nirvana's cover of 'Man Who Sold the World'. I still think the original is good but I love that version of it.

Isn't it mutually accepted that Jeff Buckley's version is like 100x better then Leonard Cohen's, hell Leonard didn't even like his version and only became popular post humorously, Though I guess the same could be said about Jeff.
It's a good version, but I just dislike that song entirelythecoreyhlltt said:haha, touche good sir. that is true though now that i think about it... but you gotta admit that this song sounds awesome that way, and deffinately better than metallica's version.Swny Nerdgasm said:Yeah, tons of stuff, like the original versions.thecoreyhlltt said:Apocalyptica's cover of Nothing Else Matters (metallica... duh)

is there nothing more beautiful than orchestral versions of popular music?
Wow. Never heard that version. Not sure if I like it more than the original or not... but there's one version that I know I like better:JezebelinHell said:I believe the original for Love Song was The Cure. It could have been a cover for them also, not sure. I tried to look it up but you can imagine the search results for Love Song in any context and the time thing. I am kind of curious if it was an original for them now though. I actually enjoy both versions but like 311's just a bit more.
Well it works much better for me with the thin built, clean cut, male singer. Although I prefer to imagine him as platinum blonde like he was in their earlier stuff. >.< We cannot agree again!loc978 said:Wow. Never heard that version. -Somehow it just works better for me in creepy-industrial with a sultry female singer... sexes that song right up.
That's pretty accurate. I can't think of one original song that's better than what they put together. This especially applies to 'Hell' and 'Such Great Heights.' Both make the originals almost not worth listening to IMO.Fretmasterj said:Everything on 99 Songs of the Revolution by Streetlight Manifesto. If you haven't heard this do it now!!!
