Isn't it mutually accepted that Jeff Buckley's version is like 100x better then Leonard Cohen's, hell Leonard didn't even like his version and only became popular post humorously, Though I guess the same could be said about Jeff.
For that song, I'm actually rather enamored with Bon Jovi's version.

I find Brian Fallon's version immensely superior to all others. He doesn't quite have the range for it, and it almost seems like it pains him to sing and play.

Also, I much prefer Lucero's cover of "Kiss the Bottle" over the original Jawbreaker song.

"God's gonna cut you down"/"Run on"
Done by:
-Moby
-Johnny Cash
-Elvis

One song that multiple artists have done in completely different ways, all becoming fantanstic!

Halloween by the Misfits is crap. Remade by the Dropkick murphys? Yes.
well, I wouldn't call the original crap, but it's true I prefer just about any cover of it I've heard.
here ya go, by the way.

.
My favorite cover of it is done by AFI, though. Y'know, back when they were a punk band...

"Holy Diver" by kill.switch engage is much better than the one by Dio.

Check it out yo.
Agreed!

Also:
Hendrix's cover of All Along The Watchtower (obviously)
MCR's cover of Desolation Row
Limp Bizkit's cover of Behind Blue Eyes and Faith
Gallows' cover of Nervous Breakdown and Staring At The Rude Boys
Fall Out Boy's cover of Beat It
Are all better than the originals IMO
And:
Cancer Bats' cover of Sabotage is equally as good as the original

I prefer Orgy's Blue Monday, Korn's Word Up, Dope's You Spin me Round, and Limp Bizkit's Faith all to the originals

The Gaslight Anthem also did it. I find it to be the most haunting.

I've always preferred Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah to Leonard Cohen's version, though I like both and hate thingy from X Factor's version.

Hendrix might have made the most popular version, but for me Bt4's performance of McCreary's version caps all - it just has so much awesome :D

I like Reel Big Fish's version of Aha's "Take On Me" more than the original.
But, I like the Aha VIDEO much more than this one.
Don't eat me.
