songs/events that birthed your love of music?

i was lucky to grow up in a house where music was played alot from big band, classical and early jazz with my grandparents through folk and soft rock with my parents. My own taste has been pretty much my own (much to my fathers shock), but the first things that defined my taste in music was hear the tracks TAB by monster magnet and Temple of love by sisters of mercy

The release of 'Melloncollie and the Inifinate Sadness' Smashing Pumpkins. Had always had a passing interest in music but heard this album and was sucked in

First real appreciation of music came with Bob Marley. After that, Rage Against the Machine, then Metallica, then Kyuss.

For some reason, I can't stand Metallica anymore, and I listen to RAtM very rarely, but Marley and Kyuss have stayed on my playlists for over seven years now.

When I bought American Idiot by Green Day.Yup,I suck.
But it's aaalll been gravy from there.God I love music.
