I normally only dislike Gospel (all songs too similar), Country (repetative subject matter and style), and rap (Just not that much of a fan.)

But I do enjoy

What are some of your examples of this? Certainly I can't be the only Escapist who has at least reached out to one or two songs of a genre they don't normally listen to, can I?

I generally dislike dance, rap, electronic music, but I do like these:

Well tbh I do enjoys anything that Juno Reactor does. Most of their songs are atleast above average. Same goes for Run DMC.

Love this song to bits. Even though I'm not much for soul or whatever it's called.

Amen to that. Can't stand most of her stuff, but damn - that's a freaking catchy tune.

I have yet to hear any rap "song" that I have enjoyed. That said, points to that one rap that used the Tetris theme.

I can't stand rap, but the Ghostdog soundtrack was pretty sweet.

Generally speaking I hate rap music, but I don't mind the occasional OLD Eminem music...

Great choice there; Sammy Kershaw's great.

For myself? There aren't many genres I hate per se, maybe "adult contemporary"? Which would let me say anything by Five for Fighting, so that makes this a whole lot easier than trying to think of a current-generation pop song that isn't headache-inducing.

Same here. I used to like nearly every song on his first album... but after that, the novelty kinda wore off.

I first heard the song while I was attracted to a girl in my class who lived in a trailer park. I guess it just made itself a little hole in my heart to hide away in.

And I gotta say, not being a fan of country, even I think he seems to have the twang down to pro level.

I like to pretend I'm too metal for pop but I like a lot of her work. Don't judge me.

It seems we have all gotten a love for that song.

Not usually a fan of cheesy club dance music, but this song is so goddamn catchy. Yes I am aware it's a pretty gay tune, but I just don't give a shit :)

To be honest though, I can't think of a genre of music that I dislike outright. Every genre has its terrible music, and every genre has music that redeems it :D

I don't normally listen to Folk music, but I absolutely love 'The Cave' by Mumford & Sons. It starts off so peaceful, and then it has so much energy at the end... It's great.

I do not like Lady Gaga or her genre ... however ...

As for a song I genuinely enjoy without that song being tampered with:

I have to agree with a couple of people here, I love Paparazzi even though I wish I could PUNCH LADY GAGA IN THE FACE! But that metal version was absolutely pointless. It adds nothing, sticking in a generic tuneless metal riff as a vague attempt to fool metal lovers into thinking she's good. Pathetic.

Empire State Of Mind is amazing without Jay-Zed.

I don't generally like classical music, but this piece is just beautiful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6yuR8efotI
