I put more than one song but I guess my real choice would be the first one just really relaxing song with a good message. I have never really been into rap but I still love this song.
Shit man. If you're not into rap, it gives me hope that people can still see what's dope in life. Weed out the good shit from the bad.

Dude. I first heard of this guy from the Rap Critic on That Guy With The Glasses. This guy freaked the shit out of me when I first heard this song. BECAUSE HE WAS [small](mostly)[/small] RIGHT!!! D:

As for this one, I can't quite place exactly why it works, but it jut hits me like a sack of bricks each time. In a good way.

I really like that song too. I think what makes it great is that it's so simple. It's very minimalistic and it has one feeling that it wants to convey. And I think it makes it so much more effective in doing so.

Anyway, my contribution:

Whenever people talk shit about hip hop, I show them this song. Then all of a sudden, they stop talking shit about hip hop. :D

I'm going to mention this song, not because it's my favourite or the best song from the band, but because of its message.

This is one of the few songs that actually move me to tears. It's about the abuse homosexuals in schools are facing.
The song manages to progress from sounding kinda sad with a beaten attitude to change into a more hopeful tone saying that life's not worth throwing away. It's just pure brilliance. It manages to combine great lyrics with a great message and the melody topped of by a decent music video.

I've never had to face the kind of abuse some homosexuals have had to, but I have been bullied and felt like crap. The message of this song means something to me personally and I have the deepest sympathy with other victims of bullying.

Probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, brought tears to my eyes. I stumbled onto it the night after I got back from my first year of college, and a lot of my friends were leaving. It was the perfect song for the perfect moment.

Also, nothing is as epic as Coheed and Cambria.

Also, I like this band, but this gave me chills. The only Metallica cover that I like. It seems like the kind of song you might play just before the big epic finale of a movie or something.

Some really good songs so far. And while I usually go for metal/rock, when it comes to songs everyone should
hear its hard to beat this one.

Exactly. I´m quite a lot into rock and metal but should I recommend one song for everyone to listen to, I´d go looking into other genres. And though I´ve never really been a fan of Cash, this song is really strong stuff.

Others that come to mind are this one as a good-feel song...

Or almost any of her songs (Skellig, Mummers dance...). I really love this woman, she seems to me like a creature from another world...

...or this one as more hardcore stuff:

Oh... Oh wow. Just... wow.

That song just......... wow. That's maybe the first time in my life I've had to wipe a tear from my eye because of a song.

Thanks for showing me that.

Everybody should hear "Tightrope" by The Electric Light Orchestra. If ever you feel pessimistic, listen to this song. It'll tell you that everything will work out, someone will throw you down a line.

Of course, everybody should just listen to The Electric Light Orchestra in general. It is an incredible 70s band, in my opinion.

A song that's just kind of mellow (to me) and really should heard is "Nancy From Now On" by Father John Misty. Heard it on vacation, wish I had heard it sooner. It appeals to me in a different sort of way, but it feels like something I could just kick back and relax too. To me, anyway.

I am sure there are more, but this feels like a suitable contribution.

Tool is kinda an acquired taste but this song is amazing.

Fixed it for ya, buddy. I love Tool as well, but I enjoy their first 2 albums over Lateralus and 10,000 Days. Still great to listen to no matter which album you choose. I just have a personal preference for the earlier Tool style.

I would say anything written by Rowland S. Howard, but if I had to choose one song it would be this one. Great band, great song.

EDIT: Ah screw it, here are a couple of my other favorites as well -

I don't know how I got into it, but at one point I must have gotten curious and listened to a song given the 'bit' treatment. Not going to name numbers because someone's going to call me out on it but you know what I'm talking about, the remixes people make on Youtube from retro console sounds. Anyhow, this love for songs retro-fied moved to the classical genre. Call me a heathen but when classical music meets electronic sounds something beautiful happens. Wendy Carlos, Walter Carlos at that time, did something I dare say ahead of his time by arranging an extract of Beethoven's 4th movement from his 9th for synths and other such instruments. Ode to Joy in this style is something surreal, a definitely must listen for enthusiasts of both respective genres of music.

I did not post that however, but you're gonna search for it anyway right?, and chose an arrangement of John Rutter's 'Pie Jesu' for Vocaloid, software vocals, and synths instead. The original is amazing no doubt about it but this version is just as beautiful. There's something tragic about not being able to meet the singer, knowing that she's a bunch of lines of code and all. Still, a wonderful piece of music. 99 views for this song is ridiculous. Go check out his other arrangements too, especially 'Kommt, ihr Töchter, helft mir klagen.' Don't even get me started on that one c:
