Holy Diver by Dio, or Killswitch Engage if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not entirely sure what it would be about but damn would it be glorious.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Diver_(video_game)

You do know they made a Holy diver Video Game, right? Read the Wiki, it tells all (And it has some pretty kick ass art too).

And I did play it. Nothing rocks harder than playing a game with an 8-bit Riff of Holy Diver in the background while basically playing Castlevania. Because that's what it was. Castlevania and Holy Diver.

Holy Shit balls, it was awesome.

So I was listening to a couple albums recently and I had an idea. What if an album by a band was turned into an entire video game?

Here's a couple examples I had...

Lateralus-Tool; Could be a cool lovecraft ispired tale about a man going down deep insanity (almost maybe the new game by Gullermo Del Torro?)

Any album-Coheed and Cambria; Since every album is about two characters named Coheed and Cambria, both with amazing powers, wouldn't a video game following the story be pretty cool?

Danger Days-My Chemical Romance; Duke nukem-inspired comedy shooter about a group called 'the fabulous killjoys' who try to take down a spontanious evil company? Count me in!

Any other ideas? Post them!
Kate bush, wuthering heights! and it involves a crazy woman in a red dress...ok Im kidding

I agree completley about the danger days one

I always thought 'Passengers: Original Soundtrack 1' by Brian Eno & U2 would make for an awesome sci fi film (ironic considering the album was made to be a soundtrack for an imaginary movie).

Never though about it for a game though... might be too slowly paced.

Awesome topic though!

Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian... oh wait...
I'd never heard of those games before hearing that song, but it got me intensely interested nonetheless.

I know the winner of this thread.
"Your brains" by Jonathan Coulton.

...What, you don't agree?

That music... And you're a fourteen year-old girl!?
Wow.

OT: Pretty much what the OP said, but also Knights of Cydonia, by Muse. Don't mind the video to that one, though.

Ugh...better equip the flame shield for this one but.....

The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance
I think that would be pretty cool. Kinda a horror-ish game?
Maybe like a FPS that happens during WWI with light horror elements like in The Darkness only less gory
Yeah I like that idea

Queen: Absolute Greatest. Yes, I can imagine a Source mod set in a Metropolis city and the player character is trying to escape.

Haha yeah. ^^ I've been told I have a great taste in music. Mostly people are only surprised about TOOL. I thought alot of people knew of Coheed and Cambia o_O

And that's a good choise too. I love Muse.

Or maybe a graphic novel?? Oh wait...

the whole album of Crack the Skye by Mastodon. also, the dark side of the moon would be cool too :)
All of Mastodon's albums could be put together to make the first Final Fantasy game (Fire, Air, Water, Earth ring any bells?)

I think Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere in the Between" album would work for a game, probably a rpg or action-adventure game. I'm not really sure why it does, but whenever I listen to the album it makes me imagine the lyrics fitting into a game or movie.
Interesting...never thought of that at all...Interestingly enough, Would You Be Impressed? has just come on ^.^ I always think of that song in some sort of Mexican Zombie experiment gone wrong lol.

OT: Protest the Hero's Kezia album could be done to a Mario game but from the perspective of a religious Goomba guarding Peach's cell, One of the Hammer Bros that has to execute her but feels regretful and then from the perspective of Peach herself, delving deep into her own consciousness...In fact, that sounds likea terrible game.

Any album by The Protomen could be a Megaman-style game...oh wait.

HORSE The Band's song 'Cutsman' could be...oh wait. Or maybe their song 'House of Boo'? Hrm...

I suck at this >.>

Not a huge fan of Muse's latest, but their previous stuff is great, imo.
And you'd be surprised how unknown Coheed and Cambria are in Northern/Central Europe (can't really speak for the South). That probably has something to do with our completely nonexistant comic-book culture, though.

Yeah I guess the comics but I know people in europe who still know the band o_O that's really weird.
