Music rocks! Some songs make you feel sad, or angry, or every other mood under the sun. But some songs make you feel happy. That no matter what, when you hear it, your mood improves.

So I thought I'd share a few of those for me.

This guy was sadly a very unknown dude back in the day. He never really got off the ground musically, though for all I know he went into production or something instead. But a lot of the songs on this album are pretty funky and groovy. This one in particular always amuses the hell out of me when I hear.

This one, many of you will probably know from Saints Row 4, and that's where I learned of it. But damn if it isn't a catchy, fun little song, that always makes me dance around in my computer chair.

This song's just got teeth, and rocks my socks.

This guy, most people know from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but this song is from some of his other work, and I just love it. Always cheers me up to hear it.

So what about you? What songs do you turn to to improve your mood when you're in a mental funk?

Well this is a pretty catchy beat on its own (showtunes, you know), but the accompanying animation helps sell it as a 'smile' thing.

Musically alone, Joe Hisaishi has some lovely pieces. I find that his 'Freedom' piece does wonders for a 'relaxed happiness' feeling.

Not exactly an explicitly cheery song. But I honestly don't have a lot of those, and this cheers me up anyways. More a sucker for the gloomy stuff, to be honest.

*snerks* I remember first seeing that video. I don't think I blinked through the entire thing. Now I find the song quite amusing, but I'm still not clicking on the link!! That damn ear worm will NOT get stuck in my head again! xD

The one album they have are full of songs like this make me feel good but I really enjoy this one

This song is both sad and inspiring and remains one of my favorite songs on any album

Well, the GTA series introduced me to some fantastic pieces. This always brightened up those rainy drives through Liberty City...

This one was great for cruising along Ocean Drive...

This was one for racing down by the fort and Pier 69 in San Fierro...

This one was for breaking the bank at Las Venturas and evading the police...

...And this here little number was for Huey chopper rides over Bone County:

Well, there are many encouraging songs that are in my youtube favorites. But the most recent addition to that list is this:

It was shown at the end of the first meeting of the semester of anime club at ISU. What a great way to start the year!

Here's mine. Always makes me smile. Heh. Smile.

This is a more mellow one I'm a fan of.

This was truly one of those songs where you would be stuck on the login screen because it was so good and full of energy. How have they not continued this line of skins, it's Gurren Lagann! Unfortunately the most logical one would be like a Yi or Yasuo Kamina skin and the community doesn't need more instalock bad Yasuo players with the PROJECT skin because "it looks cool guys, no really"

Let me jump on the current DJ Sona hype train with this:

Take my RP. All of it.

I don't really do mellow songs at all, I have like one and that's on the Kill la Kill soundtrack so it comes with a giant asterisk above it.

Gotta go with everyone's favorite German pop song that sounds really upbeat and happy but is actually about nuclear armageddon.

Also, maybe it's just me but this track here always got me in a good mood...
possibly because it provides No More Heroes 2 a reason to exist (very underwhelming sequel in my opinion, especially since I consider the original to be my favorite game of all time)

Also, maybe it's my personal nostalgia for the associated property, but this track never fails to put a big stupid grin on my face...

... I have issues, okay?

This one has always gotten my spirits up! (The title means figuratively, everything's going fine for me)

From back in the GTA:SA days, I loved this classic by Kool and the Gang. Best cruise along song, ever

And this one just for pure cheesiness and campiness

Stratovarius, like so many power metal bands, probably takes the "life is so wonderful!" tone a little too far at times, but I still love them:

And Edguy is, well, Edguy, a band I've praised plenty of times just for generally being uplifting even in their more serious moments:

Liszt. All of his works, especially the Hungarian influenced ones, are so upbeat and nice to listen to.

Though recently I've been listening to a lot of Handel's Water Suite, because the French horns in that work are just so loud and rip the right notes. Plus baroque always is fast and upbeat.

It's so hard to find a good fast version of Bink no Sake. I try not to overuse it, I kind of cherish it.

And who wouldn't be cheered up by this? The lead singer is just so sexy!

Honourable mentions go to No Reason Boner and Dinosaur Laser Fight.
