The first time I heard it I was listening through my mothers Don Mclean CD to hear american Pie, after I heard it i was listening through the other tracks and I slowly started to weep.

The story of Vincent Van Gogh is just so sad, his whole life nobody saw things the magical way he did yet he kept on going through many harsh trials and it is only the magical style of Don Mclean that can show this.

I can relate to that, this song tears me up for pretty much the same reason. I actually have quite a few songs that tear me up for that reason. Plus, my mum played this quite frequently after he died.

Mine is Johnny Cash's song, "Hurt". It really gets me

pry been Ninja'd already, but Johnny Cash's version is actually a remake from the Nine Inch Nails version. it's a song about Trent Reznor's former Heroin addiction. however, i do love both versions.
