As much as I love The Ramones, they're boring to play on Guitar Hero. Hell, they're boring to play on the guitar, unless it's a song like Needles and Pins.

Please get rid of Pat Benatar. Does anyone actually look forward to her songs?
I do...
Hah, I feel like an ass now.
It's just that I don't picture lots of gamers frothing at the mouth for Guitar Hero: Pat Benatar. It's not that her songs are bad, I just think they're a bit... dull. Perhaps monotonous is the appropriate word.
I like Pat Benatars songs because they are quite easy to play and act as a warm up for the later songs like Scream, Aim, Fire and The Kill. I also enjoy Spiderwebs by No Doubt. I also hate the song by Oasis. WAY to long and repetitive.

High five for the Oasis thing. It drags on for far longer than it should.
Scream, Aim, Fire isn't my style, but Spiderwebs is tons of fun to both listen to and play.

Baracuda: I Friggen HATE that song, yet my little cousins cant unlock any songs so they just replay that song over and over!

Any All american rejects song: Now when I have female fereinds over, They always ask to play that because thats the only thing they are familiar with.
Better than playing Blondie "Call Me" and Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Map" two million times because thats all the singer can sing.

Goodbye Horses by Q Lazarus.... I have an urge to tuck jesus pose when that plays.

any song that isn't metal or hard rock because 1. they are boring to play 2. they are MOSTLY boring to listen to
So Santana, The Who, The Eagles, Kansas, Queen, The Police are boring to play and mostly boring to listen to?

I suppose it's "fun" to play only fifth chords or chug on E, while playing solely on 4/4, which is essentially what Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Slayer and Dragonforce do.
To be fair, I'm not a fan of those groups and find most of those songs boring to listen to and play in-game (with the exception of Kansas.) It all comes down to 1) your taste in music 2) your personal skill level 3) your chosen "instrument."
Queen was mostly known for their vocal harmonies and not their shredding, so if you're a vocalist these songs can provide a significant challenge. However, if you're a skilled "guitarist" you'll probably find their songs rather on the easy side, which can be dull. Of course, if you love the song enough and/or you're not that skilled, the difficulty won't bother you and/or you'll just have fun hearing it.

I am pretty good myself, having 5 starred all on-disc songs on GH3, GHWT, GH5, and RB2 on expert guitar, so I tend to gravitate towards the harder groups/songs (which include Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Slayer, and Dragonforce) but that doesn't mean I ignore all other music.
Steely [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQks3jprLnU&feature=fvw] Dan [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHkvsL3ha4A&feature=fvw] Songs are usually quite fun and tricky. Ozzy Ozbourne [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGVB5wEHKMI] Has plenty of hard parts without being excessively heavy metal. Panic Switch [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1GJ_OrgtjE&fmt=18] is always a blast to play and Snow ((Hey Oh)) [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09XebMWEZjc] is deceptively difficult. Dream [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqwinqs9cAA&feature=related] Theater [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsKaDPAYJpk&fmt=18] songs are great fun too, and let's not forget the game developer bands such An Endless Sporadic, who brought us the gems "Anything" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8GZSqAYz_M] and Impulse. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8RsFPEJxFc&feature=user]

I guess I'm just trying to say that people who enjoy difficult songs play more than just hard rock or metal. We like other songs too =)
Of course, claiming that only songs you like should be in the game or only one genre is just silly.

If somebody out there still thinks that metal is the only genre that has fast and difficult songs, the Dixie Chicks [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zmV-ZnFcQg&fmt=18] would like a word with you.

Banjos for the win.

I also think its pointless for Rock Band & Guitar Hero to be copying each other's songs all the time. I'm just waiting for them to put the final nail in the coffin and put Through The Fire And Flames as DLC for Rock Band.

In case anyone's interested I found the track list for the upcoming Band Hero....be afraid, there is a lot of Taylor Swift,

"ABC" Jackson 5
"American Pie" Don McLean
"Black Cat" Janet Jackson
"Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" KT Tunstall
"Dirty Little Secret" The All-American Rejects
"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" Poison
"I Want You To Want Me" Cheap Trick
"If You Could Only See" Tonic
"Just a Girl" No Doubt
"Let's Dance" David Bowie
"Love Story" Taylor Swift
"Picture to Burn" Taylor Swift
"Oh, Pretty Woman" Roy Orbison
"She Will Be Loved" Maroon 5
"Sugar, We're Goin Down" Fall Out Boy
"Take Back the City" Snow Patrol
"Take What You Take" Lily Allen
"Thnks fr th Mmrs" Fall Out Boy
"Turn Off the Light" Nelly Furtado
"You Belong With Me" Taylor Swift
