Wow that's a long title. I'm putting this in off-topic because it's more about music than anything.

SO: Is there a song (or songs) that, when you hear it, remind you of a game you've played, despite the two being completely unrelated?

I've got one: Every time I hear Weird Al's "A very complicated song" I think of Metroid Prime (a friend of mine played it over the phone to me once while I was gaming, now the connection is unbreakable)

Sadly up until I was like 13 I used to think that the song In the end by Linkin Park was about playing games lol. I think it was the whole I tried so hard, but in the end it doesn't even matter thing. I just always thought of how you can work your ass off getting good in a game but then there is either an insanely hard boss or one that is like a one hit ko, either way all your hard work was thrown out the window lol.

I think my first xbox 360 (before it broke and we couldn't get it repaired, no idea what happened to it though) had this song on it called Krafty, by New Order. I think that was it anyway... but whenever I hear it, I think of zombies. I used to play it whilst playing dead rising, just cos it amazed me how it completely changed the atmosphere of the whole game, and made everything hilarious. That, and it was the only song that came with the xbox that I liked

Gary Jules - Mad World. When Gears of War first came out that song was on the tv commercial for it and whenever I hear it now I always thing of Gears, quickly followed by Donnie Darko of course.

always reminds me of the secret levels in mario sunshine since my brother always played it loudly while i was playing it

the lyrics always seemed to describe my exact predictment "treid so hard," "got so far," in the end it doesnt really matter", "had to fall to lose it all"

"lonely soul" by UNKLE is forever tied to Assassins' Creed for me, because of the awesome trailer.

The whole Slipknot - Iowa album reminds me heavily of Red Faction 2. I played the two together a lot back in the day.

If you're wondering, I'm not a big Slipknot fan any more.

Some song by ICP reminds me of Pikmin.
My sister played it while I played it.

I got the 1st Halo and the 1st Darkness album for my birthday... ooh a long time ago, so played them at the same time, and now if I hear "love on the rocks with no ice" I think of that snowy level with the banshees and all the mounted guns.

Yeah, for my friends and I, it's become the anthem of the hopeless during the hordes in the Left 4 Dead games, especially when the Tank shows up. So tragic, yet so hilarious.

Anyway, I always think of Mercenaries when I listen to certain songs from Jeff Beck's 'Truth' album and the 'Spamalot' soundtrack, all because of one or two times I listened to them while playing the game.
