Basically, I heard a song on the radio today. I'd heard it before, I liked the lyrics, I liked the general theme and I just thought it was a very well done song. I then heard it was by one direction.

One direction, as in the band that sang "What makes you beautiful?" I was shocked, but it was true. The song is such a departure from a lot of their other singles, and it works well because of it (In my mind)

The song in question is
So what songs that you enjoy have been made by bands you otherwise despise, if any?

LOL, I like this topic! I work for Old Navy part time and the majority of the songs we play are either really good (mostly 80s/90s alternative, pop and everything in between) to really horrid selections from Today's Music.

Anyway, I can honestly say that I think Justin Bieber's 15 minutes of fame are over and done with (that's what his brand of music is called Bubblegum Pop for good reason). So one day, about a year or so ago, work started playing his song "Love Me". Now, when I first heard it, I didn't even know it was Justin Bieber, especially since I tend to use the music at work as white noise: it's there just to help keep me occupied at work and nothing else . I really liked the beat and the fact it samples the Cardigan's single "Love Me".

Well, after listening to it over and over again every time I was at work, I finally figured it out that it WAS Justin Bieber! I'm still somewhat embarrassed to admit to my friends that I actually like a Justin Bieber song, but fudge it! It's got a nice beat and his voice isn't too degrading (before the puberty monster struck).

Marry the night by lady Gaga, i dislike most of her music, mainly because to me i feel like shes in music more to make a show than to sing (which isn't really a bad thing, just not my thing.) but god do i love that song.

Cherub Rock by The Smashing Pumpkins. I find a lot of their music strange, and the lead comes off as a bitter and angry brat, but this song blows me away for some reason. It's one of those where I can still get goosebumps listening to it.

I believe I may be fond of a certain song made by The David of the Ghetto. I like it, and played it whilst reading various creepypasta and SCP's which resulted in me having goosebumps and odd feelings when hearing an otherwise relatively harmless pop(or something else, my knowledge of music categories is definitely rather poor) song.

I like that one mostly for the opening. It's so gosh darn epic. Though I don't know if I've listened to enough Coheed & Cambria to really say I dislike them.

Something about the composition and the contrast of Dani Filth's vocals to Carolyn Gretton's vocals just really makes this one stand out to me, even though I haven't particularly liked any of Cradle's other work that I've listened to.

Now, to be clear, I don't dislike Foxy Shazam, but nowadays they're more like a modern Queen, which is vastly different from their first album.
So I generally consider them to be two completely different bands. :D

A couple Kayne West songs.
(All of the Lights, Runaway, Power, and there might be one or two others)
Kayne West himself is the king of all douche bags.

"Love Gun", "Strutter", "Detroit Rock City" and "Beth" by Kiss.

Kiss isn't a bad band, but the moment "Rock and Roll All Nite" comes on, I want to kill people who sing it. It's overplayed, and it sort of damages how I feel about the band. Everything else is quite alright by me.

"Danger Keep Away" - Slipknot.

It's not really that I don't like Slipknot, I just haven't listened to enough of their music. This song, though, is actually quite nice, a friend of mine and his wife had this as their first song at their wedding.

That's about it, really.

Brace yourself people, I'm about to say something positive about the jonas brothers.

Right so, my cousin was watching some movie called camp rock 2, so I sat down and watched a bit with him. So for a while I was sitting there thinking "This is a fuckin terrible movie", when all of a sudden, they start playing a song about being a rockstar. I'm not saying I'd listen to it, but it's far more palatable than anything else they've ever recorded.

I might not go as far as to say I hate Oasis but I'm definitely not a fan of them. However there are a few songs by them which I really like and this is by far my favourite. There are also a few Lady Gaga songs but it's only the ones that LittleKuriboh has parodied for Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged and only because I like singing along to the different lyrics.

Many of Lady Gaga's songs. She's an attention whore who relies on gimmicks and cheap sex appeal, but I'll be damned if I were to say her songs aren't catchy.

Not much love for Oasis :-( The British public were subjected to far worse music during the 90s, some would say :p

For it's either: Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2. Most of their music bores me to tears, and I'd quite like to punch Bono. To be fair this song isn't that different to the rest of their stuff as far as I can tell - it just has something else, that actually makes love it. Literally the only U2 song I ever listen to.

Or:

This:

Not really got time for most of Joe Budden's stuff, and he's a bit of a nob. But he kills this - a billion times better than the original, so fair play to him.
