5ive - Keep on Movin'
My musical tastes have developed far beyond boy bands, though I was a Backstreet Boys fan when I was ten, and even then I never liked 5ive. Sometimes I'll listen to a few old classics 90s boyband pop with friends but this song I listen to and just enjoy. It's such a cheesy feel good song. Whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself or miserable or something bad has happened I put this song on and my mood just goes in a complete 180.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Can't Stop
I've always thought Anthony Kiedis was a useless front man. His voice doesn't work with anything. As iconic as RHCP are and have been I've never cared for them. But I like this track, don't quite know why, it's not like it makes any more sense than any other RHCP song.
Robbie Williams - Angels
Another 90s pop thing. Robbie Williams always annoyed me but I've never been able to deny that this is a pop ballad classic.
Split Enz - Message to my Girl
Those who aren't New Zealanders or Aussies probably won't know this one. As a Kiwi I was raised to like Split Enz. Never did. Plain and simple, New Zealand pop and rock music just wasn't good then. But then Tim Finn surrendered the band's leadership to his brother Neil and Neil wrote this one which reflects more the sort of music he'd go on to write and perform with Crowded House. Neil kinda proved that he was the talented one, (though Tim did write 'Persuesion' which is pretty good,) which is probably why Neil got brought in to write the song for the first Hobbit film.
Weezer - Hash Pipe
Weezer's okay to listen to sometimes. I just wish after however many years they've been going they drop the whole faux garage band crap and actually try to extend their music. My Dad once compared them to Status Quo which is fairly accurate and while I don't think Weezer are that bad they are that boring. Hash Pipe seemed to break away from their usual shit and it is a pretty mean track.
All Saints - Pure Shores
Just a really well produced pop song.
That'll do.
