Sonic 4 or Super Meat Boy?

Browsing the dash today and I saw that if I were to spend another 1200 by Sunday, I'll get credited with an additional 800 points in the coming months. Seeing as I was going to use 800 point to buy the new Reach map pack, this is essentially me getting one of the aforementioned games for just 400 points. So...what would you advise I get? Sonic 4 or Super Meat Boy? Sonic 4 is obviously a throwback to the retro Sonic games I hold dear, but Super Meat Boy has been getting consistently higher reviews from most places, and looks pretty unique.

Other game I got for 1200 this month was Costume Quest, by the way.

I haven't played Sonic yet, but I have Super Meat Boy which is awesome. Come on, any game where you can play as a castle crasher, alien homonid, bit trip guy and n+ ninja is awesome

That's a very tough call...I'm edging towards Sonic 4, because Super Meat Boy supposedly gets really hard and frustrating. Like Trials HD. Sonic 4 has nice scaling, if an over-abundance of lives thanks to the casino zone.

That said, I've played Sonic 4, I haven't gotten SMB yet.

Defiantly super meat boy! No doubt uv played sonic and im 99% sure we all know its a dying series with no knew surprises, however super meat boy is a pretty goddamn original context, i mean just look at the title = P It looks fast action packed and very very long. I know what i would go for, if nothing else you will experience something new

I'll tell you now...Skip Comic Jumper. ANYTHING but Comic Jumper.

That game is frustrating as fuck, with bullets blending into the background and being a pain to see in the Manga levels and poor level design. Funny game, but the frustrating outweighs it.

Thanks for the heads up, I can't stand that kind of level design, one of the reasons I love SMB even if it is damned hard is that it never descends into that. If you die it's because of something you could clearly see. The level design hates you, but it's never bad.

Super Meat Boy! Definitely. Seriously I was so chuffed when I first got a chance to play it through, it entertained me to no end. And I got bored of Sonic back when I had my PS2... so for me it would be Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy all the way. The 1st two (free) flash games were fucking incredible. If you're still indecisive then have a quick go on the original Meatboy at newgrounds or any other flash game website. Granted, Sonic 4 will entertain as well but you're getting more game, more ingenuity and more difficulty for your money with Super Meatboy.

Don't buy Sonic 4 for $15. Everybody else, meaning PSN and the iOS people, got the game for $10.

Additionally, Super Meat Boy is amazing. Buy it! It's only $10 for a limited time. Totally worth it!

[edit] My bad, I guess it's $15 in PSN, too. Maybe the price I saw a couple weeks back was a sale price. But it's still only $10 on iOS.

If you hold Sonic 4 dear, DON'T get it.

Not because I'm a Sonic fan and hated it (I'm so far from a Sonic fan,) but because every Sonic fan I've seen talking about it has whined one way or another about trivial crap that makes me wanna angrily go "If it's not enough like Old Sonic, why don't you just STICK TO PLAYING OLD SONIC?"



Super Meat Boy is my suggestion, if only for that.

Thanks for the suggestion. SMB is 800 points now on the market-place, so if I get that I'll have to get something else to qualify for the points. Might just get them both now.
