I'm basically posting this because i've recently revived my love for that little blue hedgehog through a purchase on Steam which led to me buying Sonic 1, 2 & 3 (and Knuckles) and it basically brought back all those amazing memories of being sat around the Sega Megadrive with my brother, back in the day, co-op-ing it all the way to the end.
As i'm much older now though, i'm much more into getting all of the Chaos Emeralds than just playing through it for fun, so now i'm truly trying to complete it. The 2D games were all so damn amazing, then they went and turned it 3D, like they did with Rayman and Oddworld (Munch, not stranger) and turned those awesome games into crap.
I'd forgotten how much I loved the 2D games and I've been looking into the new release and it looks like it could finally make the Hedgehog something to love again, not loathe. So how about you guys? Have you brought any game like Sonic which you haven't played in maybe a decade and remember how much you loved it? Perhaps you made a purchase and realised how aweful it was.
Honestly though, if you can't remember, it's stupidly cheap and i've already put in 6 hours over a day. It's so damn fun!
