To start off, I am a Sonic fan (if you didn't already know) and like many Sonic fans, I am excited for the upcoming Sega title "Sonic Generations." It seems that nearly every other week, I see more and more details about areas and gameplay that the game will offer.

There have been many "flops" and upsets with Sonic title in the past, having a great concept nearly ruined by mixing up the Sonic formula and trying out something new that did not fall through when the game was released. But seeing as this game is meant to satisfy both classic and modern Sonic fans (of which I am both), I feel that this will be the big break that the Blue Streak has been waiting for.

I could be wrong, however, as Sonic titles have had a tendency to take one step forward and two steps back. But with the positive reinforcements that have been brought up with the latest Sonic titles, Sonic Generations might surprise even those who are quick to dismiss this latest installment.

I'm really not sure about this, The cynic in me is saying that it's just going to be a dissapointment like sonic unleashed whereas the fanboy in me says not all new sonic games have been THAT bad (Sonic 4 and Sonic chronicles) so I'm rather undecided.

The demo did give me high hopes (as long as you can zoom the F*****G camera out! :L) and I would love to see sonic finally make a glorious comeback.

It looks like a vast improvement over every 3D Sonic game since Sonic 3D Blast, but that game made me dizzy as shit. Still, if it comes out for PC, I will buy it.

Two words: City Escape.

The return of that level alone has made me ultra excited for this game. Well, that and the fact that Sonic Team is moving down the right path for the series so far. After the low point where people lost hope for Sonic, Sonic Unleashed began the recovery; although it was far from perfect, the night levels being not so great and all, the day levels were surprisingly good. Then came Sonic 4, which was also pretty good. After that, Sonic Colors, which was easily the most fun I've ever had playing a Sonic game. I've got high hopes for this one, not that it'll be a masterpiece, but that it will be better than what came before.

The music sounds awesome, the 2d levels look awesome, the 3d levels look awesome, the voice actors are AWESOME, and the graphics look amazing. Also I'm a Sonic fan as well.

What do you think my answer will be?

After playing the demo and buying the first episode of Sonic 4, I am totally looking forward to Generations. It's good to see Sonic where he belongs, sidescrolling.

Even if Yahtzee won't like it, because he views nostalgia as a futile emotion.

I cannot fucking express how much I jizzed my pants when I saw the trailer. I'm a massive Sonic fanboy, but I keep forgetting to pre-order it. Yes, I am excited. Yes, I loved the demo. Yes, because I'm a fanboy I will automatically love it. Nevertheless, I'm stoked.

Meh.

It's alright, but it isn't the greatest thing to hit the sonic market.

Played the demo, seemed to me that they just took One of the older sonic games, slathered HD graphics onto it, put in some 3D areas, and wished it on its merry way.

Not a bad game, just something i'm not excited about.

I'm a huge Sonic fan too. Like most Sonic fans, my expectations for Sonic games hit rock bottom long ago and hasn't moved far. Sonic's definitely seen an upturn in quality in recent games, but still nothing even close to his former glory as Mario's equal.

That being said, I'm not going to dismiss Generations before I get my hands on it. I'll give it a chance to convince me that Sonic still has some worth as a character - and I genuinely hope it won't disappoint me.

Well, I think it looks pretty good so far. I'm not sure if I'll get both the 360 and 3DS version, but I'll definitely get one of them. Probably the later since it's pretty much Rush meets classic as opposed to Adventure meets classic.

My interest in sonic is pretty minimal, aside from the days with my megadrive v2 sonic, as a game just doesnt grasp me anymore, i guess im more suprised that they keep getting funding to make new titles considering how many of the recent ones have been terrible.
