It amuses me still that there are people still making the
"derpy derp derp it's a Wii mote with a glowing ball on it" :V
or
"it's a dildo derpy derp dumb.....derp"
and this is coming from Escapist users?
I honestly expected better than that.

Either way I think it's amazing Sony would keep their cool about something like this but I guess all the "mocking" advertisement did help along the way.

I've just came from the news thread about Microsoft questioning PSmoves credentials and arrive here where Sony is like "ha ha ha thanks Kinect" *sticks tongue out*
Why are companies such bitches to each other? hahaha.

(This comment should be read with a sarcastic tone) Got it. Motion controls in gaming weren't given enough coverage without Kinect. It was Kinect that generated the huge global hype around motion controls that gave the Move the push it needed. All those years before- nothing. Kinect showed us the way for the first time.....

Um... Move getting good reviews from you guys - The Escapist - does not a good gaming peripheral make. No offense. You guys have been wrong before. It also doesn't equal good reviews from everyone.

Oh unless you guys mean the peripheral itself is good. The games I've seen are crap but as far as I can tell the peripheral itself is competent in its motion control.

Unique? A Wiimote with a glowing bobble?
A working Wiimote witha glowing bobble that (in my room) glows bright pink? Hell yeah, I love it.

Also, I'm surprised I'm the forst to mention this, but:-

You'll know which bit when you see it (if you haven't already)

I think he's got a point. Sony was like: "Here's a technically advanced peripheral" while Microsoft was like: "This shit is the biggest thing to happen to games since Gabe Newell!!! OMFG! Check it out! Here, come to our 50 billion dollar launch event with flying couches and music stars, bitches".

Ofcourse the hype rubbed off at Sony. I find it admirable that they've taken this so lightly and promoted it as an interesting peripheral to enhance games rather than the second coming.

I can't wait to see what people will think of Kinect, especially since all I've heard so far is that it's frustrating and annoying.
While I don't want to sound like an even bigger Sony fanboy (pshaw, like that could happen) but I do agree with Sony here. Sony is taking a much more calm, see-how-it-goes approach to Move, expecting it to slowly gain sales and build a base.

Microsoft is goin' around, screaming "IT'S FUCKING AMAZING, IT'LL SELL 3 MILLION IN JUST ONE HOLIDAY@!#@" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103519-Microsoft-Predicts-3-Million-Kinect-Sales-Over-the-Holidays] and going "It's not for the hardcore" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101581-Microsoft-Kinect-Not-For-Core-Gamers] then "The hardcore will buy it first! [sub]because they're stupid like that[/sub]" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101723-Hardcore-Will-Adopt-Kinect-First-Says-Microsoft]

Sony has played it cool and safe, cleverly promoting their product from behind the scenes with "Yay buttons!" and "Move vs. Stuff"

So far, the Move looks interesting and I can imagine me buying it sometime in the future. The Move is an innovation of the Wii, look up the damn definition of "innovation" and you'll see that it "improves upon a previously existing product" or something like that. The whole "lolol it's a dildo!" and "lolol it's a Wii ripoff!" stuff is getting old real fast.

I really wish the other two had not jumped on this whole Wii bandwagon. It isn't necessary.

I heartily agree, and as a PS360 user who won't be getting either (maybe Move "eventually" but that's unlikely in the near/medium future).

Sony is playing their hand with a decent poker face while Microsoft can't wipe that stupid grin off their Kinectimal. While I'm not a big fan of either device, what games does Microsoft have to even show for their device? Sony has already proven the "slow and steady" approach works for them with the PS3 now eclipsing its early self. I have to give credit to the Move just for the sake of allowing interchangeability with controller inputs on games like Killzone 3. The Move will be able to adjust to its future demands because it can be incorporated in more than dance, air guitar, and seizure simulators.

That "Yay Buttons" site makes me want to go buy Move.

I'll resist, but the site was still pretty awesome.
I loved "Yay Buttons". Very nice sense of humor.

Sadly I can't say the same thing about "Move vs. Stuff".
I honestly didn't think "Move vs. Stuff" even counted as marketing when I saw it. More like a fanboy chart someone threw together in two minutes. It's not even aligned properly ha ha! Yay buttons speaks volumes for Move and even the Wii because that's the obvious Kinect (K)aveat. That limitation alone sells the Kinect's competitors because it's a $150 Wii rip-off without the Nintendo exclusives and strictly motion control. I have a 360 and the spare $150, but I'd sooner buy a Wii just to have a full console's library of diverse titles and not just Wii Kinect Sports.
