Not many reasons to make something for a thing like Vita, when you might just as well focus on a massive, booming platform like smart phones and tablets, which are not far off.

I've always wanted to enjoy handheld gaming, but despite owning three different DS models over the years, and the PSP Slim, every one of them except my original DSi ended up being traded in.

I'm already having to contend with my smartphone, laptop and/or tablet when I'm out of the house, so yet another device to cart around has zero appeal.

Clearly dedicated home gaming consoles aren't having this problem, since they've done nothing but proliferate even as PCs have gotten cheaper and more powerful, so I wonder what it is about the handheld market? I'd have to think that they must just be getting crushed by the huge number of less-specialized mobile devices, both tablets and phones, in functionality and in price.

"We made this product that is unwieldly, that has limited support, draconian lockdowns on its usage, heavy cost burdens placed on the consumer and no one bought it. Now no one will make games for it...I just don't get it"....

That was my translation of what Sony said, may not match the words though. Ultimately, Sony made another product few wanted, then made it so heavily encumbered by lockdowns that even people who buy it probably cannot use it the way they want. Now 3rd party publishers see the pattern, recognize low sales and won't produce for it.

*Surprise!*

It looked neat, it wasn't expensive, and hell I tried it out and the response was great. So I bought it, also I got three games. I finished one. That's how the story ends. I will never by a portable again. Me + ANY portable = non compatible.

I have no hate towards Sony at all. In fact, I own basically every single thing on the market so far as far as Sony,Microsoft,Nintendo, etc. I have it all really. I have not chosen sides, nor have i chosen to care what happens too greatly here or there. Yet every time i read how people feel about the 3ds or Wii, it has to have the word gimmicky. As if gamers are so shocked that it would only have a few new features. Kind of like how Sony upgraded the psp with higher end graphics, better design, and touch screen. It's always going to have something we can call gimmicky. We as gamers just need to accept this and not give two craps. We all hated on the Wii's gimmicks, now we have motion controls everywhere. It works and sometimes it does not. Just a gripe I'm so exhausted at seeing. "It's so gimmicky". Cry in a corner, or suicide, it works for both of us because I get the joy of silence. If you love your vita or 3ds, power to you friend. But the psp already proved it can not just survive on system superiority alone, system as in the specs. It's sales and the market it attracts. Does this mean your "gimmick" cry's for the 3ds mean the 3d could be selling? Maybe. Who knows for sure entirely? If Sony wants to sell the vita, they need to actually decide what they want to do, yes. I would personally love my vita more if I had more reasons to start the thing than turn my ps3 on.Persona 4? HOORA..wait. Oh yeah. Its on my PS3. Oh well, i can get Ultimate Marve....no wait, that's on PS3 too...ok, this is getting fucking stupid, how about....Ah! I'll get a metal gear solid HD collection here! No way this could possibly also be on....OH FOR FU- Forget this. I purchased your damn PS3, now you want me to own a clone you're too busy to give life support to? Bugger off.

The devs are prolly afraid that the vita will get homebrewed just like the psp so why bother.
