Can you imagine if they did a film on the old versions though they would need to rebuild the set after every take

Well, it will certainly dig a deeper hole for whoever is directing it if they manage to screw this one up, unless it is Uwe Boll or Michael Bay. No one expects anything good from them anymore. Of course, by "screw up", I mean fail to be true to the series. This is already a lose-lose situation for whoever thought of this idea. I can't remember the last time anyone said they played Devil May Cry for its rich story. So, here's hoping they create a really impressive action flick B movie with tons of CGI and almost no plot whatsoever (And here's hoping they trump my expectations and somehow do even better than that).

It's based on the new game.

It's based on the new game.

I can not grasp such a nut-crunchingly stupid idea as that.

The real mind boggling is idea is why they felt that Dante even needed a redesign AND a reboot.

Let's not do that shall we. I know you want to smash the last cookie out of the piñata, but you'll crush the cookie in the process.

I'll watch it. No one has really played the new DMC game so it's not for certain that it's gonna be bad. It might surprise us. This movie might as well.

Well, fortunately DMC is not mainstream enough to draw in huge crowds like Tomb Raider did. So if the fans ignore it should be a pretty quickly forgotten financial flop~

I'm sick of this. DON'T HATE A GAME BEFORE IT COMES OUT!!!!
I think a Devil May Cry live action movie could work as long as it's done in a non-serious way, good example, Shoot 'em up.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah NO. I don't think this is a good idea, no, I do not, no, NO

However, I am still looking forward to the game. I was not happy when I saw the new emo Superman in Superman: Earth One (so I never read it) but a young, prickish Dante doesn't phase me at all, for some reason (probably because he's not Superman!) so bring on the game! ...But not the film

Sadly the new game seems to be doing just that, taking itself too seriously. :p
And we can hate it if it messes up an iconic character. Are you saying that we should give a film in which Batman dresses in pink and without a mask a fair chance too? I don't mind updated designs but you shouldn't remove exactly the elements that made the character recognisable.

And I also sincerely doubt that this will be the first Hollywood produced video game film that will not be terrible.

I mean, it's not as though Devil May Cry 4 was among the, if not the, highest selling game of its genre ever.

Oh wait.
