It's a novel idea, but they made one critical mistake: people who play videogames generally don't want to be active while they do it, they want to relax. I think it will go down in history as an interesting experiment.

I don't play it as often as any other console, but for party gaming it's tough to beat.

I didn't have an opinion of the Wii at first, until I realized what kind of demographic they were really aiming for. Now, I've pretty much lost almost all interest in Nintendo.

terrible thread title, and this topic has been done to DEATH.

The machine is a fine gaming platform, possibly the ideal console for folks who primarily use the PC platform.

I do need to point out that 90 % of every library is crap, and has been since the Atari 2600

Red steel 2, super mario galaxy, SSBB, Okami.

I love my Wii. It is fun, has a good amount of great Nintendo titles, the motion control was amazing when I first got it and it plays NES, SNES, N64, Genesis and Gamcube games. What's not to love? ..... Well there are a lot of rubbish third party games, and while that's the same with the other systems, the Wii's graphic limitations keep it from getting most of the games the PS3 and 360 have.

I still have a Wii and I mostly play it, but I also got a Xbox 360 a few years back because I wanted other games that the Wii didn't have. Wouldn't it be interesting to have a 3D Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row on Wii, and really, how many rail shooters does the Wii need? The Wii can handle other types of shooters. (Like Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4)

Like I said, I love the Wii but I don't like what it has done to most of the gaming industry. I mean come on, Kinect and Playstation Move, with Nintendo already four years ahead. I have a 360 but I won't pay full price for Kinect, and if I had a PS3 I would only play Resident Evil 5 Wii edition.

It works so well in Super Mario Galaxy though (and its expansion pack)

Don't go for complicated functions on it, it's simply not accurate, but a little flick here and there does wonders.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that there were criterion concerning what makes a thread title good.

I don't mind it. My grandfather and one of my friends has a nintendo wii. The other night I went to my friends house and played "New super Mario brothers" and "Wii sports resort" and I had a lot of fun. However, I wouldn't get it for myself, I love my PS2 and PS3 too much :)

It's an original idea to be sure, but I really don't think it's the right way to go. It restricts certain genres, it's annoying to play, and in general just frustrating. I would happily use a normal controller any day. So the whole motion-control thing should just die already.

As for the Wii itself, "meh". It doesn't have that many good games (more than it used to for sure), the controller is frustrating, the Wiiware is disappointing, the VC is hardly updated, just meh. Not my cup of tea. (Mind you, Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers are amazing)

No More Heroes 1 & 2, Goldeneye 007, MadWorld, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Smash Bros Brawl, do I need to go on?

It's got a small pile of really neat games, even though all of them should be played very casually. I think the only games on the Wii that I've thoroughly enjoyed were No More Heroes and De Blob (man, that game relaxes me)

I don't own one but I see where it has it's place. Admittedly it doesn't have a great library of games, some design flaws and mediocre third-party support but I've had fun in the times I have played it (and I once played Brawl for eight hours straight through the night at a friend's house).

I regret getting it. I mean I still like the Wii and the games on it but it had become a casual gamer console. Ok there Mario, LoZ, No More Heroes, Monster Hunter Tri etc but Xbox 360 got Halo, Gear of Wars and many other cool games.
