I love the Wii. I play it daily, most of its games don't make me motion sick (which is the exact opposite for Sonycrosoft), and it has a wide range of games to play.

Currently I'm playing Arc Rise Fantasia. Terrible voice acting, but a very fun game none the less. I'm also waiting for Last Story to come out with baited breath.

And I'd list a hunk of games that are good on it, but what's the point anymore? These threads always lead to fan boys on both sides ranting and refusing to listen to one another.

Only thing i need to say. I bought the Wii for that game alone. Blew me away. It looks just as good as any ps3 game on the market. And its addicting as f*ck!

My actual thoughts on the system: It's fun for a while and great when your just fucking around with some friends, and possibly drunk, but as a "core" gamer I just think it's a good console. The controls aren't precise, the graphics (and I hate being a graphics whore, I am NOT a graphics whore i assure you) are meh when compared to other consoles, and it's third party support is so shitty a pig could take a bath in shit and still not smell as bad. It has some pretty good first party games, but I'm just not really intersted in those.

I don't think the Wii is a terrible machine but I do feel that it was let down by Nintendo. Motion control does have it's upsides, but it also has significant downsides (particularly in the early days of the Wii where even basic motions were poorly realized and inaccurate). Nintendo, however, got itself hooked on the idea that pretty much everything needed some sort of motion control even if the function the motion control served would have been much better done with a simple button press. Also, the system wasn't done any favours by Nintendo opting for such an underpowered hardware setup (well, beyond allowing N to sell it for so cheap anyways).

Pretty much that, although I don't use my Wii that much anymore, I'm more in PC gaming atm.

As an admin for the escapist wii group I can say I never regret making that my console of choice. This year is one of the best years in its life time the only thing that could make it better would be a new okami. and perhapse a zombie survivle game because mature games sell on the wii, no more heros, call of duty, resident evil, silent hill. I think sega went a little overboard with mature when they made their games.

The 10% of good games that are on it are almost entirely worth it, and are usually always better then the good games I have on my PS3 or high-end PC. I played on my Wii more than either of those consoles combined. (Almost 10x more if you count Brawl, and a little over twice as much is you don't.)

Sure it has a lot of trash on it, but it's not like you have to play any of it.

I can't stand the control scheme. The way it holds back games that might otherwise be good (Twilight Princess, Other M, Mario Galaxy) has pretty much killed the system for me.

On the other hand, what few games there are with sensible control schemes, I really enjoy. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is great, and so are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Kirby's Epic Yarn. I just wish other heavy-hitter titles could be so versatile. I don't begrudge players who like a little waggle in their diet, but me? I just want a regular damn controller, please.

I think it fills a niche, and sometimes that's all something needs to be good. It proves that video games are still growing, and of course any time anything grows, there's always opposition.

My advice to anyone who doesn't like the Wii: don't buy it. A broader selection is never anything to complain about, and video games will never grow as an art or form of entertainment if we moan and groan every time something new and unfamiliar comes onto the scene.

I have a PS2 for the classics, a 360 for those of us in the house who are adults and we have a wii (well, will have again in a few days) for the kids and for family fun. We also all use the PC to some extent. They all have their place.

Hmmm, I am thinking that we have far too much of our lives centered around games! This looks worse then it is, I swear.

I don't have a problem with Nintendo or the Wii but I agree with Yahtzee that motion controls by themselves aren't really immersive. I mean seriously! The wii, the virtual boy, the rumble pack, and bluetooth. They have the recipe for the awesomest gaming machine ever!

I love my Wii because there's loads of good, unique titles for it, especially if you consider the back catalog of the Gamecube. I own a PS3 and a gaming PC, but my Wii still gets played on regularly. In particular, there are multiplayer titles on the Wii that are very accessible to whatever company I have, can be played by four people in the same room on one console, and don't have good analogues on other systems. Rail shooters are especially good (Ghost Squad in Paradise Mode is hilarious in a group).

The list of games I've enjoyed because of my Wii is pretty huge: Muramasa, Twilight Princess, Ghost Squad, Okami, House of the Dead 2 & 3, Trauma Team, House of the Dead: Overkill, No More Heroes, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Lost Winds, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, New Super Mario Bros, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Endless Ocean, Mario Kart Wii, Elebits, Super Mario Strikers, and Boomblox. I've also played a few Gamecube titles on it: Eternal Darkness, Tales of Symphonia, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Pikmin 1 & 2, Windwaker, and Mario Power Tennis. That's over two dozen titles, and I'm sure there's more worthwhile games out there that I haven't played

Good, fun games matter to me more than the sheer power of a system. I love my PS3 too, but my Wii has been played on for way more hours. Sure, there's a lot of crap Wii games on the shelfs. I don't buy them. The good titles are still good and make the system worthwhile. I understand it's limited in terms of graphical power and online capabilities, but that's what my PS3 and PC are for.

Needless to say, I've lost all hope in the Wii.
