Hi everyone! I thought I'd go ahead and start a topic here at the escapist. I don't expect this thread to become a place for debates or discussion, and neither would I want it that way. For my first thread all I want to do is share with you some relaxing music. Feel free to post songs that you yourself enjoy when you feel a little under the weather and need some soothing music.

Now, go ahead and enjoy the three tracks I present to you. I'll go ahead and write a little about what I know about the artists, in case you'd like to keep listening to them.

City and Colour - In the Water I Am Beautiful
City and Colour is not a band really, it's just Dallas Green's (Dallas=City, Green=Colour. Clever boy eh?) solo project. Dallas Green is mostly known for playing guitar and singing in the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire formed in Canada in 2001. What he does with his solo project however is something pretty different. It leans towards folk/country music more. So, enjoy!

Tahiti 80 - Better Days Will Come
Tahiti 80 is a french synthpop group, consisting of four members. They've been around for a while, since 1993 to be exact. These guys are a bit more cheery in comparison to Dallas Green/City and Colour. Their songs are generally a bit more uplifting, so when you don't feel like drowning in your sadness (not that it isn't enjoyable) while listening to Dallas Green, go ahead and try them next.

This isn't the whole song however, it cuts of with about 1 minute left. I really have no idea why, but there aren't a lot of Tahiti 80 songs on youtube, so it'll have to do. Enjoy!

Rise Against - Roadside
Rise Against is an american punk rock band formed in 1999. They usually tend to have a lot more "hardcore" songs. Every once in a while however they make these mellow songs which, in my opinion, just shine through. In this particular song Emily Schambra, singer in the band Holy Roman Empire, also provides backup vocals. It really fits well. Enjoy the last song! Feel free to post your own selection, as mentioned, of soothing tunes. Enjoy!

Most of the songs on "The Dream Sequencer" by Ayreon.

I'd suggest any thing by Jack Johnson. Very relaxing.

Thanks for the first, I didn't know it and it's rather good. Not so sure on the second, and I'm already a big Rise Against fan.

Anyway...

Ah, I love the two latter. The first was pretty cool as well;) Do you by any chance listen to Rx Bandits as well? Might not always be soft music, but it's damn good=)
