Apparently there will be no Seth Green playing Joker in the Mass Effect movie, since Green doesn't look enough like Joker, according to Kotaku and the movie makers at least. Too fucking bad that Joker IS MODELED AFTER SETH GREEN.

Answering questions that they didn't have time to answer during Comic-Con a few months back, the producers of the upcoming Mass Effect movie have posted a few bits of extra info on the project on the website of film company Legendary Pictures.

While dating back to last month, the blog was updated in silence, so much so that nobody really took notice of it. Until now!

While this shouldn't be too big a surprise, the movie will focus on a male Commander Shepard and not the female version. It's also revealed that Seth Green's character of Joker won't be played by Seth Green, which at first sounds absolutely incredulous, until you remember in the movie you'd have to look at Seth Green, and he just doesn't look the part.

Honestly, I don't care one way or another, but damnit, Seth's voice is rather iconic really. Having a character without the voice they are known for is going to come off weird.

OT: I don't know that Seth Green could pull a roll like that off on camera. He's too much of a comedian. While I understand Joker is something of one too, there is a difference between voice acting and camera acting.
It would be cool to see him in the film though, maybe have a cameo or small supporting role.

So I would prefer Seth Green in the role.

I'm Commander Shepard, and Seth Green is my favorite choice for the role of Joker.

This is just dumb. They need the voice. Green's voice is Joker, not the model, which doesn't look THAT different from Seth Green.

Ok, I'm totally in agreement that Seth Green should play Joker, simply because of his voice, but I have to disagree in one point. I really don't think that Joker was modeled to LOOK like Seth Green. I mean, I don't think it's a valid reason for them not to cast him in the role, but they're right that Joker looks nothing like his real-life counterpart...

EDIT: Ok, in retrospect, I looked up some comparison pics, and I guess there's more of a resemblance than I thought there was. But still, I don't think that Joker looks as much like Seth Green as say Miranda looks like Yvonne Strahovski.

Wow, just when I didn´t had enough reasons to not to give a flying shit about a Mass Effect movie, this comes along. Great guys! Smart move.

But I´m not bothered by it, because I know that the majority of people that are going to see the movie are people that didn´t play the game, because many gamers would be completely fucked by seing an adaptation that completely screws up your choices by saying: "No. You were wrong. These are the right choices. Fuck you.".

So as you probably figured out, I´m not seeing it and probebly most Mass Effect fans aren´t to. So what´s the big deal if Seth Green won´t be in what will most likely be an uncanonical piece of shit?
