No point to even think of souls unless evidence is presented. Until then it goes in the "No" pile.
I always thought looking for evidence was missing the point in questions such as this. For me, it would be piontless if there was evidence, because it changes from faith to just knowing somthing is there.
For me I always thought having faith was stupid because there is no evidence. People shouldn't just 'believe' things without any factual evidence to back it up.

Alot of people had faith that blacks weren't equal to whites. Alot of people had faith that interracial marriage was wrong and that our country would crumble if we allowed it. Alot of people believed in a supreme race in Germany. All faith, no evidence.
you can't find evidence for everything some things can't be explained
Then don't try to explain them with god or any other deity if they can't be explained.

I'd rather say that some things can't be explained yet. However I know plenty the theist that says "It can't be explained, therefore it was God who did it".

Wow this is hard to answer depends on what you believe a soul actually is.

The belief of a soul flying away and going to heaven or hell ya that's not real.

But there is scientific research that when you die you lose like 15 grams of weight or something. And it's the electricity from your brain going out and we don't know where it goes and some believe it could be a soul leaving.

But in my own personal feeling there is no ghost that will leave you at death. But otherwise the idea of a soul isn't entirely wrong it makes people try to be better people and that's always good.

15 grams? Sounds an awful lot like the weight air would have in one's lungs.

The idea of a soul is wrong because it's false comfort. Making people fear something to be good doesn't make the person good.

Government conspiracies, the existance of a soul, stuff "man was not meant to know," and "we are not alone"?

Can I stop laughing yet? I mean, the fact that you think your government is hiding the existence of a soul, among other things "we were not meant to know."

1) You think the leaders of the religious right would just sit on that information?
2) Real life isn't that much of a hackneyed chiche. Sounds like a bad paperback or the plot of a Christian video game.
Alright...laugh if you want to, but it doesn't mean I am wrong. Governments hide stuff all the time.

Btw, the government is not hiding the existence of a soul, but they do hide things...important things. Things that you would make you shit yourself from.

The catholic church is bullshit which is probably the only thing I agree with you on. I might add I think all religions are bullshit as they all contain a history of violence and hypocrisy.

Real life is much more cold than any cliched movies. The bad guys win in this world, unlike cliched worlds where the good guys win. In fact, in this world the only way the good guys win is they have to be become bad guys themselves. Much like our own war on terror and how most people see our troops as bad guys.

You are fool.

You know, I hope you do go to hell. Not because I believe you should go there, but because I one day I want to say to you "I told you so."

So I'll tell you what. You can go ahead and rot in the ground and let the nematoads eat at your corpse and I'll go to heaven. Deal? Since there you believe in nothing...you get nothing.

You know...in the cliched movie that you bring up...things happen the same way. A group of people say "Aliens are coming and want to kill us." You, like the rest of the doubters, don't believe and mock the believers until that one day the aliens do come and take over the world. Cliched yes, but this world is just as cliched if not more cliched.

So here is the million question that NO ONE can answer. If what I say turns out to be correct...what would you think?

I pity you....I truly do. Even a blind man can see that a man who has no faith in anything... has no faith in love. So to each his own. I also feel sorry for someone who is going to be your spouse since you don't believe in love and thus I guess you are going be a bad husband and father if you even can get someone to love in the first place. Lust is not the same thing.

I will laugh too. I will laugh at your pitiful, nothing life. Like I said, since you believe in nothing then you are nothing. Logic, in your words.

So those think a soul does not exist....say there is nothing?

Wait so...there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and the nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything (or nothing in their sense) and then a bunch of everything (or nothing) magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into a self replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs.

Yup, perfectly makes sense.

The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic. The truth is, that it is not the Jewish banking conspiracy or the grey aliens or the 12 foot reptiloids from another dimension that are in control. The truth is more frightening, nobody is in control. The world is rudderless.

This has to do with a soul, how?

Your parents probably hid stuff from you, so obviously they must be compulsive liars that have never told the truth.

But then as your parents didn't teach you morals nor any shread of skepticism, so I guess that analogy wouldn't work.

Your religion thread is going to go up in flames. You cannot properly discuss religion or anything closely linked to religion, like souls, ever! It always turns into an argument. On topic, yes.

Why would you even bother asking that question. Most of the people here are don't believe in God and believe in Evolution. the consensus will obviously be no (while mocking you in the process).
