Note: If this is the wrong section please let me know.

Mine is one that I've been killing myself over to find.
Darksiders 2, during the mission where you
restore the tears of the mountain
in the combat sections. It's not the boss one, which I believe is called the Makers Fight Back. I just can't find it AT ALL.

It took me hours to find the Turbo-grafix 16 version of the Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys soundtrack online. I delved deep into Google's search engine, up to page 14, before I finally found it. I have NO idea how my search was even relevant that far in, as the 4th or 5th page is usually when you give up. Sure, it was on YouTube, but I wanted the actual thing in a collection so I didn't have to download everything myself. Was... somewhat worth it. It's quite classic and lovely~

The first Dawn of War OST, I can find youtube clips of them but nothing of decent quality, and considering this is work by Jeremy Soule of of Skyrim fame I'm rather disappointed.

I can't find the GTA San Andreas Soundtracks as a whole. I used to remember that they had boxed sets of all the music stations available for sale at one point. You can find individual songs and so forth on youtube, but I would like a complete set with all the commentary included.

The rarest soundtrack I know of is the soundtrack LP album to the animated film version of The Hobbit. From what I have read, the actual soundtrack is lost so the songs on the LP album are basically rips from the film.

Apparently any NA released soundtrack for N64 games are collectable and valuable. I have one for Yoshi's Story and Banjo-Kazooie. The Yoshi Story one is shaped like Yoshi's face so you can't use it in car CD players, only top insert spinning ones. I put it my high speed computer CD Drive and it sounded like a saw.

All the rare soundtracks I wanted are pretty much found EXCEPT for a complete recorded version of the Final Fantasy 8 PC version soundtrack using the Yamaha direct music driver with the S-YXG70. Its something I wish I could replicate, but I cannot without an emulated computer or an old old computer. It sounded so much better than the PSX version and the Microsoft Direct Music version, I miss it very much.

Also reminds me I pretty much download MIDI sequenced versions of my favorite video game music and listen to it via soundfont synth or if I can the S-YXG50.

For years I couldn't find a soundtrack to Trauma Center: Second Opinion, which was a minor travesty because both final boss themes are awesome!

I've always been eager to find the music in the trailer for Star Wars: KotOR II: TSL.
I believe it's by the composer for the game, but I just can't find it ANYWHERE!

I remember after I first played Rainbow Six Vegas 2, I spent ages trying to find this one song they play in the background during a mission in a theatre or something, never could find it. It was a punk rock-y type thing, I always thought it sounded like a good song, but oh well....

Allods Online, probably the third best soundtrack I know (after Age of Conan and Morrowind) but it's been totally impossible to get. The encoding in the .pak files in the actual game makes extraction put 1 second of stutter every 2 seconds, which, if you fix manually you'll just get a really poor quality file.

So it only exists in really bad quality on YouTube:

The St. Petersburg symphony deserves better. Hell, this OST was even played by travelling roadshow 'Play!' and I can't find theirs either.

Madness!

Freaky Flyers.

The songs from the game that have vocals are all hilarious, but only half of them can be found on the internets (or anywhere else for that matter).

I hope you're kidding, I used to have the Vinyl version of The Hobbit sound track & the album from the weirdly animated LOTR movie. I wish I still had them now, but they got burned up in a fire.

Darn.

If I recall, I think its rare because it only got a European release. Though I am mostly recalling this from something I read online ages ago. I don't know how rare it is, I just know its generally rare.

In the original Beyblade series, there was an orchestral score that would play during suspensful moments. It comes back to haunt me day and night with its memorable tune. But every site I looked tells me it doesn't exist. Am I going insane?

The soundtrack to the total war games. I cannot find anywhere to get them legally so I resorted to downloading them off youtube.

The soundtrack for the Another Century's Episode games. Thus far I've only managed to find the OST for the first game, and a couple of tracks from 3. 'Tis a shame, they're good themes, I'd rather like to have them in my collection.

I'm still searching for this trailer music
<youtube=6YftW8-3Qm0>
It wasn't on official OST disc, and I do realize that this track was probably made exclusively for that trailer... but hope still lives.

Dawn of War 2

See, the trouble is, each track had two variants. The out-of-combat variant and the in-combat variant. Any time I search for the tracks, all I can find is the in-combat variants. There was one Space Marine track in particular that was amazing out-of-combat but rather mediocre in-combat.

I'm still trying to find the music from the "distress call" trailer for Mass Effect 1. It really pisses me off, because I've spent six goddamn years looking for it. I'm also looking for the orchestral score for The Darkness II: they only released a licensed album with songs from a bunch of rock bands, not the stuff you actually hear in the game. Absolute bullshit.
