............why?

just........why?

im going to go and consider being a hermit now.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired.
Yup, we're just throwing SCIENCE! at stuff to see what sticks. No practicle perpose whatsoever. Nobel Prize winners, Olympic athletes, astronauts, war heroes, all dead. Just to see what would happen.
not to mention god knows how much money wasted on makeing a puppy glow a little and risk makeing it deformed or have poor health.

xD deformed or poor health? If you want actually deformed poorhealthed dogs, go find a dog breeder. Seriously, those "purebred" dogs are so horribly inbred, that they wind up with all sorts of deformities: backwards legs, inside-out eyelids, half blind, half deaf, and don't forget about all the tumors. poor dogs often spend their whole lives in pain because of the inbreeding..
atleast these scientists actually know what they are doing here

"The creation of Tegon opens new horizons since the gene injected to make the dog glow can be substituted with genes that trigger fatal human diseases,"
Y....yay?

Trigger fatal human diseases? Did they hit the wrong button on google translate or are they just extremely blatantly evil?

1.8 million pounds for potential scientific gains is good. 1.8 million pounds for a glow-in-the-dark dog? This is what science is for.
Okay, not really, but I think that every scientist wants to create something like this someday.

I'm sorry, but where on the list of "Things needed to be done for Science" is it listed for "Glow in the Dark Dog"?

...
#55) Create a Fridge with a TV...
#73) Create Glow In Dark Dog...
#156) 3D Television on Fridge...
#374) Cure Cancer...

I can only assume this is a vague idea of the list.

But in all seriousness, hasn't this been done before with a different animal?
Ah well, what ya gonna do?
I'm fine with it as long as some good comes out of it, if there just screwing with it, then i don't agree.
I remember glow in the dark rabbits and cats. The big thing is that these are transgenic mammals, which is a big accomplishment. This particular gene is usually chosen for its...

...visibility.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
