It hasn't got every single song ever loaded onto a computer, after all its not got any of the Rammstein discography. So it isn't perfect, still good though.

It's perfectly legal. The more mainstream your taste is the more likely it is that you will find it barring a few dickish exceptions earlier mentioned in this thread. What's even more mindblowing is that there is a iphone app. Yes, an iphone app! With an offline mode where the streamed songs save on your iphone for offline play. Mark my words, this is gonna be huge if it ever gets over the huge chinese wall of red tape that is american copyright laws. http://www.spotify.com/blog/archives/2009/07/27/spotify-for-iphone/ It's pretty much the reason why im leaning between eating after next paycheque or finally giving in and getting an iphone.

I don't use it because upon being told about it by my friend, I asked if it had Manigance, a french power metal band. His answer was "no". That and I hear regular complaints that it auto corrects "Status Quo" to "stat Quo", which is apparently some rapper. Wonderful as it would be to get past half the ridiculous blocks youtube has over here, I odn't think it's worth downloading a whole seperate program for it.

You can actually register

EDIT: Oh, ok. It's only available in six countries, that explains why it's pretty unknown.
It used to be possible to get past that by having a friend in UK register it and just keeping the UK post code in the account... But then they got smart :'(
You can actually register a trial account with a country specific adress still. It will however shut down after two weeks if it's used by an IP outside of the legit countries. Found that out first hand when my gf went back to Canada (she's missing the program more than me it seems at times). Premium is non-country bound I think, havent tried though.
