Alright, your right just, i've been part of this almost exclusive club for a while, it feels weird how people will play dow then come at me like a true fan and they've been fans for years. I dont want the games to keep extending or possibly changing because of the increase of the game fans.

i might give space marine chance now.... All because of you, it better not disspoint or else i'll find you :p

Also, get into ther table top!!!! most fun you'll ever have, just painting and collecting is amazing then using your personalized army against your friends. amazing.

My son is five, and constantly drags me into the Games Workshop when we're out. Can you recommend a good place to start? He really wants to start painting, but I figure an easy game will give the figures some context and hopefully provide him with a more cerebral hobby as he grows up.
Thanks in advance.

Wasnt impressed, far too clunky far too "cluster-fucky" for my liking. Didnt help that I played with a 40k geek sat next to me wanking into his blood-somethingorother towel.

Lol Cool. But hey like I said if it isn't your cup of tea then no need to keep it. But still awesome that you will give it another chance. Though I suggest renting it first to see if you do like it. no point in wasting money for something you don't like.

I didn't like it.

The movement was so slow and tank-like - I know it makes sense in context to the hulking characters but that just isn't fun to me, lumbering around like a rhino with concrete blocks tied to its feet.

Also, the maps felt too small and narrow for such huge numbers of enemies, I ended up backed into corners far too many times and being killed cheaply. Melee seemed pointless as enemies have incredibly annoying knockback/paralyse attacks.

Also, it was ugly as hell to my eyes, lots of nasty brownish red and bland textures everywhere. Just didn't appeal to me.

Uh...The table top games IS in fact, recommended 12+ for a reason. Hell, almost all of the lore I wouldn't want my 6 year old sister to HEAR about, Fascist people who arm their main army of most of their citizens with wet cardboard and flashlights and execute the ones who run. And those are the good guys!(well as good as you get in 40k) Not to mention the daemons all about lust, blood, plague and Knowledge/lies, were worship is basically sacrifice. If you aren't going into the fluff, maybe i can see it but even then its kinda iffy. The absolute youngest I've seen in a GW store is 9, and that's because his older brother plays the game. I'm not telling you how to raise your kids, but GW might not be the best thing right now.

OT: CP couldn't run it, I am very sad and would have pre-ordered if i could have.

Best advice i can think of is keep him the hell away from any Chaos lore if you want him to get any sleep for the rest of his childhood.
but I suppose if i was introducing a kid to warhammer, I'd probably go with guardsmen. They're probably the easiest to relate to, and even if he never gets into tabletop, they'd be just like a really expensive bucket of army men he could screw around with.

My advice would be to not start playing :p
It's insanely expensive, they even just had (another) price hike.

The cheapest way to start is to buy used models off ebay or something. Unpainted is best, but painted metal ones can be cleaned off with pinesol (or other cleaners) and a toothbrush.

Played it. Although it may not be the best game I've played all year, it's the most fun I've had in a game all year. It's just so satisfying to cut an Ork in half with a chainsaw that's also a sword. The multiplayer also looks fairly interesting.
