I get that people are allowed to dislike games for their own reasons, but there is a difference between that and making every comparison in your review to an exclusive title for your respective console.

Yeah, I'm bitching, but it is bullshit reviews like this that barely account for anything the game offers in favor of trashing it in comparison to your latest cash cow that is hurting the way games are judged. Space Marine is supposed to be the anti Gears of War, yet that is all OXM can be bothered to talk about.

The last "journalist" who mentioned that had to apologize after the nerdstorm that smacked him across the face. The apology note was hilarious to read although it did come as a surprise for a journalist not to know/research the rich history behind the Warhammer series, something that definitely can be forgiven considering he seemed to be relatively new to the gaming/nerd spectrum.

But then again, from TotalHalibut's WTF is Game X? series, SM captures the W40K experience perfectly, and is definitely a crossover between Dynasty Warriors "fight off hordes of 'weaklings'" and Gears of War violence/explosive action, which is what the warhammer 40:000 experience should be all about. And it seems they succeeded, so kudos to relic as usual.

I swear i was just on a thread which had exactly the same review and the points you just made.
Therefore i have to say that you're stupid. Of course both games have ripped off each other, gears have ripped off big ass guys with equally bigger guns fighting green things and space marines have ripped off the gameplay and things but that's how games work, if they didn't do that then games would be shit right now. Take deus ex and crysis, both have augments that make you superhuman. Then we have Reach that takes CD's perks. The list is endless.

I didn't even like the game and I can say it's not like gears of war. It feels nothing like it, the gameplay has nothing in common, the universe is completely different, etc. It's a linear third person shooter, true, but thats about as far as the comparison goes.

I'm a Gears fan, not a Warhammer fan, but even I could see that this is not a Gears clone. "Oh my goodness, Space Marine is a game! Gears is a game! Copycat!"
