So I watched this
But it got me thinking if there were space marine women what would they be like? (this is of course warhammer 40k) I mean would they be like big sisters of battle or what? Do you think they should implement girl Space Marines, what do Space Marines do in their spare time?

This thread seems kind of pointless. I don't really get the topic, could someone further elaborate it for me?
In warhammer 40k there are no space marine galz. Do you think they should have Space chicks? And what would they be like?

Edit: Happy birthday!

They would be like the women who took steroids and have large amounts of testosterone.

Or maybe they could be like snipers...some kind of light infantry. Obvious, but I can't think of anything else.

I believe Aliens, the movie that inspired the modern space marine stereotype, had a couple lady space marines. I haven't seen it in a long time, so I don't remember them exactly.

You realize that real snipers carry more weight than infantry soldiers, right? good luck packing 200+ lbs of gear on a female, even if she is a space marine.

I agree Girls would probably have big armor plates and lots of guns and the only difference between guy and girl space marines would be the chest.

An ordinary space marine carries more than 200lbs of power armor.

when you consider that battle armor means your physical strength is less important, female space marines would be fine. Course, you are wearing heavy armor.. so its not as if the marines are gonna look any different from each other based on gender.

As for time off.. well.. in 40k there is nothing social.. life is all war and death.. so I can't see having much time off ;)

There are space marine women. Sisters of Battle. But they only exist because of some edict forbidding whatever it is they defend from possessing fighting men. I can't remember exactly, go hit up the googles.

The rest of the marine chapters are male only because of the gene seed they use being designed for men or something like that.

The one that weirds me is the lack of female servitors. You'd think the creation of cyborg drones wouldn't discriminate based on the lack of a Y chromosome.

Then again, they are so heavily modified that they could be, with all feminine characteristics removed.

This question would seem to be more at home on the general discussion boards or some War Hammer 40k site.

The whole gun bunny or girl warriors isn't really something I thing that the designers were really considering for the game. Yet even though the space marines don't have female units other races, like the eldar and those necrons or what ever they are called, have them.

As far as the marines spare time well, you could either try reading some of the novels, looking at one of the compendiums, or go to a convention or something and I am sure that some one will have a presentation on it :p

Realistically? They'd probably be genetically engineered for war, not aesthetic appeal, so you're going to end up with something pretty butch.

In terms of what Games Workshop would do with it in order to sell it? Turn them into sultry, bikini-clad battle babes with removable garments.

Yeah there were, I watched it last week. Died pretty quick if I remember right.

What about the medic in Starcraft? Are we counting her?

well, rules of the fictional monastic order aside. I think it'd be pretty difficult to identify someone's gender when they're encased in enough metal to stabilize a small office building.

Also, Starship Troopers had plenty of female cannon fodd...space marines.

I don't care? Seriously why should this even be discussed?
Remind me why you felt it nessecary to post?

Edit: Also sisters are not space marines infact they are just odinary humans albeit humans with lots of training and armor.
