So wait,they're rebooting a movie franchise that's only 8 years old?Wtf.

And a Warcraft movie?Heh, I bet with every ticket purchase people get a free Wow trial card. Oh and the movie tickets will be sold in 3 peices.

And who's gonna star in the new Spiderman films, Rob Patterson?Michael Cera?Shia LaBeouf? The Disasterous possibilities are endless.

Oh I got another one, the Warcraft movie won't be a full movie, they'll be 5 parters, you have to pay for the other ones to if you wanna experience the whole movie, and when it's done Warcraft 2 will come out, which is a 6 parter.

I'll be back when I can think of anything else.

This seems like a very odd decision.
They've only does 3 films, it's like making a Spider-Man TV series but half way through the first season throwing away everything you've done and restarting with a new different discontinuous beginning.

I'm guessing they've decided to do this because of the success of the Star Trek reboot. But that only worked because the original Star Trek was very old and had 10 films and 4 series averaging just over 5 seasons each.

bring on the cancellation! i enjoyed the first 3 films but a bit of fresh blood can't be a bad thing - look at the hulk films - the 2008 reboot used a totally new cast and director and (personally) ended up being MUCH better than the 2003 film

my guess is they'll take the new Spidey along the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline, seeing as how it ties pretty closely to the newer Hulk/Iron Man movie arc. i mean, now that they're using Sam Jackson for the role of a black Nick Fury, they might as well keep using storylines and concepts from the Ultimate universe. spider-man's about a sophomore in high school, Venom is a biproduct of a cancer-curing liquid biosuit going rogue, Nick Fury constantly on his ass and making sure he isn't screwing up so bad that it keeps him out of S.H.I.E.L.D, that sort of thing.

...lol sorry, i became a fan of Ultimate Spider-Man when i was a kid and Spidey started getting big again.
Crossovers will kill the Super Hero movie business. Same way crossovers(not really crossovers but you get the idea) keep plenty of people away from comic books.

Also these reboots aren't really a good idea, they will just confuse people more and more. You have at least 4 rebooted franchises coming in the next few years:Superman, Spider man, Fantastic 4 and Silver Surfer. All of these names came out in the last decade as new movies.

The next 5 years the market will implode with Super Hero movies. There's just to many rebooted, crossover, sequels, new franchises coming. Urg...

Great, now She-Hulk can't act.
I wouldn't mind seeing a movie of "No Hero". "Kick-Ass" is a good comic, but I'm a little leery of the movie.

Good.

Spiderman is a terribly overrated character.

Dr. Strange and Iron Fist movies please.

That was before Tranformers 2 and Jeniffer's Body (I heard quite a scathing review of Diablo Cody's ameaturish writing and pretentious characters sounding way way to intelligent and witty) also her dreadful hosting of SNL. If she is still on this movie its already dead.

At first I was upset, and now I'm kinda happy (For a second I thought the Spidey series was cancelled for good).

It'll be a fresh start for a movie series that's become a bit stagnant.

Maybe it is because I was actually invested in the character, but the Spider-Man films were painful to watch. I remember that South Park episode where George Lucas rapes Indiana Jones, how I felt about Raimi and Spider-Man. A super hero I loved as a kid more than any other utterly destroyed. If they got some things right, might have been bearable, but rare feat to do everything wrong.

I'd rather they let it die, but .001% chance this might be decent. I'll go watch Dark Knight again...

Here's an idea. How about, instead of rebooting the franchise or going off to direct a movie about Warcraft or whatever, why don't they just come up with an original story?

Cinema is being dominated by geek culture and I personally can't stand it. Every month, there is a new film version of a comic book, or a film version of a videogame, or a remake of yesteryear's failed comic book movie. Fans are just dumb enough to go see these adaptations, despite already knowing that they are going to just sit and complain about how they screwed the story up. The consiquence is that enough money is made from all the assholes, that producers and directors go on to pick up the next shitty adaptation.

In my opinion, if a comic book or video game has a good enough story to tell, it does not need to be adapted at all. I want to see them adapt obscure, or badly written stories, so that they improve upon them. Take Old Boy. It is an excellent movie, but the Japanese manga it derives from is lack-lustre and neglegable. It is annoying, knowing that whilst good adaptations can be made (and are), it seems like adaptations are all that anyone is doing these days.

Maybe he could direct an Atomic Robo movie or something instead.

Isn't it unusual to reboot the series less than 10 years from the release of the first film? Real quick on the trigger.

Also the films have still not managed to capture the humor in spiderman which is stupid seeing as his wit might as well be one of his super powers in the comics.

I agree totally. Spidey makes quips during fighting. That's just Spidey.

Hmm... so what you're saying is that spiderman has gone the way of Batman and Superman?

I guess that means that the next Spiderman film will be fucking AWESOME.
