As we comic nerds know, We loved the Spiderman franchise. LOVED. Spiderman 1: Great, Something we all enjoyed. Spiderman 2: Better than the first, loved it. Spiderman 3: What. The. Hell.
So, first we have to examine what made the other 2 great. Brought something we loved to the big screen. Good action, everything. Now, what made it suck. I'll tell you what, writing. It wasn't the acting, directing, or Venom's scree-.. Wait, that is about 15% why it failed, but the other 85% was writing. Having Spiderman cry? Writing. Putting Venom in last minute? Writing! The black suit making you more flamboyant then evil? WRITING, WRITING, WRITING! Understand, they forced Venom in there, against The directors wishes. Topher Grace was good, you didn't see him enough to know and the whole movie sucked, so what did you expect. Writing makes or breaks a movie. This time it broke. Hard. Discuss your thoughts feelings and how you think they could better Spiderman 4, or should they reboot it? So, Discuss.

Venom should've been a villain in his own movie and not tacked in with sandman.

I don't think it was a bad movie. I just think the first two were a really hard act to follow.

Also, that emo dance scene was fucking stupid.

The writers seemed to aim at a more comedic look on the Spiderman comics and while diffrent it is far from good. Personally, I thought it was so-so. One of those movies that had it's moments, but you never wanna see it again.

Plus, it paled in comparsion with the other two.

The fact that there wasn't a single goddamn character who didn't cry on-screen.

I think they should look at Marvel's recent re-imagining of the Spider-man series "Ultimate Spider-Man" and do what makes Spider-Man great. Spider-Man!!

He is one of the most human character in the comic book world when he stopped being Spider-Man you thought wow that's what I'd do but you rooted for him when he decided that he should be a hero again.

You pitted him because all he wanted was to see a play the stared a girl he loved but he couldn't because he had protect New York and if he told MJ she could be killed.

So in short in 1 and 2 Spider-Man was a hero. Not a Super hero. But a human hero that you could relate to and felt bad for.

I think they should do "Spider-Man 3: Can we try again?" because that way they might be able to "Un-Jump the Shark"

To many villains and an extra hero at the end.

One at a time people. It just had to be all over the place to cover all the characters. A whole movie devoted to Venom, then a whole movie devoted to the second Goblin. Then a movie for Sandman. See that would work. But Mcgyvered all together they sucked ass.

I didn't think Spider-Man 3 was bad, I thought it stumbled with how it screwed-up Sandman, but other than that, it was a pretty good film.

I thought it was pretty good, besides the emo bar scene that you all have... kindly... reminded me of.

Venom is one of the most badass comic book characters ever (Right under Deadpool). He only got like 15 mins of screentime. FUCK THAT

They tried to shove too much shit in it, and ultimately failed. There were some parts that were way too hard to follow; the parasite got one bit of screen time, then came back 20 minutes later. That's not good storytelling.
