I can't see execs nixing the Black Cat, purely based on that even the dumbest executive would notice that hot woman+skin tight black leather jumpsuit=teenage boys queud up down the street for cinema tickets. I think the Lizard shouldn't be in 4, he's big enough to have his own movie, 3 really suffered from having too many bad guys (seriously, Venom is the MINOR bad guy, what the fuck?!) when 1 and 2 had one that worked really well.

That's ok with me. I mean the Spider-Man series already destroyed Venom, who was one of my favorite comic book villians. So I really don't care what they do next.

Black Cat was an awesome character in the comics. Why would they destroy her character like that by making her a wanna-be Vulture clone? Boo for Marvel.
Theres a long way for these things to go- and they hardly ever end up this way in the finalization. Im pretty sure they wanted to have Jennifer Love Hewitt for Black Cat initially.. or all kinds of changes.

They did ruin Venom. He was a big and stupid version of Spiderman, and was pretty funny to watch. He also never pulled his face back when talking.
The only good Spiderman movie was #1. #2 and onwards might as well be called Peter Parker since you hardly see any Spiderman.
Firewebs was just a normal pick-up, it made web useful against the symbiotes.

You know what the sad art about this is? There already was a female Vulture in the MC2 Universe (the most likely future of of the Marvel 616 Univrse) named Rapture. She was a former villain before Spider-girl helped her out and actually an ok character.

Man. Would it have been so hard to make Kingpin the villain instead of Vulture? Forget that crappy Daredevil movie, Kingpin was originally a Spider-Man villain. They rebooted Hulk, they could easily reboot a villain's movie history to work him into Spider-Man 4's storyline.
