As a religious person with friends and family representing a vast milieu of beliefs and philosophies, I can say that yes, I believe that there are many paths to spiritual completion.
Ultimately, I find that many of us agree that it is by actions that we prove our resolve and our love for our fellow man.

All religions and denominations have merits and truths. I have no qualms with the many paths approach.

TROLL!

OP: I take the 'No paths' option.

EDIT: DAMN NINJAS!!
yes because everything I said was a lie. No wait it actually happens here and I have to fucking deal with it every day.
So do I whenever I tell someone I'm atheist.

But the way you said it was unecessarily rude.
ok fair enough, but after a while of hearing bullshit from the pluralists about how I'm close minded I get a bit stabby.
Same here.

The usual response I get when I say I don't believe in God is "How can you not believe in God? Don't you want to go to heaven?" to which I usually respond "I don't need a fairy tale to comfort me about my own mortality." I see why people need religion, but I see it for what it is, comfort and nothing more.

It is possible to be Spiritual but not Religious if you look at this belief. A single spiritual being created the universe, but did not creat relgion. Being spiritual, or the wanting to further ones closeness to the divine, or spirit world does not need any religious background. Also, all the religions have some truths to them, and many of them have misconceptions. I discovered that many of them have common themes. Beings coming from the sky, someone (or multiple, i find it to be a combination of the highest being and some lower beings) came to earth and created us in their image. And many more....

If you want to know more further on the subject, or are just a generally curious being, feel free to send me a message asking for more =)

I like to take the "Don't be a dick" path, seems to be working pretty well.

Also - Taoism has some pretty neat ideas.

I subscribe to the "Screw paths I'm gonna be immortal" path.

But, in all seriousness I guess I belive it. I mean I would classify myself as spiritual, but I don't really like the concept of religion.

Well you know what they say, "Christianity is not a religion, it is a RELATIONSHIP". I swear that I hear that ALL the freaking time.
If you're not buying condoms or birthday cards, it's not a relationship.

Not really. A many paths approach means that you are accepted to be at the place you are even if that is atheist or agnostic.

And we should care because {insert reasoning here}.

@topic

Eh, whatever you want to believe. Your beliefs don't affect me in any way, and mine don't affect you.

I'm not religious myself, but I'd think that if god/gods existed, it/they would judge based on behaviour, not arbitrary faith (arbitrary because it depends on your upbringing more than anything else what religion you follow).
There are always converts, but for the most part you're right. Many people I know who call themselves "Christian" have never been to church and understand very little of their own faith, and just claim it as their religion 'cause mum and dad do it.

OT: I only know of one person who calls herself "spiritual", but she's one of those stupid bitches who reads the Astrology/Dumbass page of the newspaper like Gospel.

the spiritual but not religious thing makes me laugh considering there synonyms. As far as personal beliefs: none of your business (I don't discuss religion over the internet it's just asking to get flamed.)

I'm more of a one path kinda guy, I think God wants us to be sure of a salvation rather than hoping "am I good enough" Or why did he get into heaven he's X times worse than me.

I'm an agnostic, so I'm still at the crossroad. I used to be an atheist, then I realized that the atheistic train of thought is no more valid than any other, and that we're all just placing bets. Many friends of mine think that christianity and it's cousins are good choices because you go to hell if you don't, and that other religions aren't like that, so they aren't worth following. I think that's the densest and most cowardly thing imaginable, and trying to pull a fast one an omnipotent super-being, such as the concept of "technical virginity", is a pathetically vain endeavor, destined only to anger such a being over mortals being so arrogant as to actually believe they can pull a fast one on it. Personally I'm rather fond of the pantheistic religions, the old Norse, Egyptian and Greek dieties and surrounding elements, as well as Shinto (it's the only religion I know about that encourages personal hygiene as part of the scripture, oh and the rest of it is basically just not being a dick to people).

If people want to lie to themselves, fine. Just remember, "Happiness is a prison, the most insidious prison of all."

I, on the other hand, like truth. So, I don't follow any spiritual paths.

If happiness is a prison, lock me up!

OT- My belief is many, many paths and my belief is constantly evolving as I learn of new concepts and experience new things.
